It wasn't one of those romantic, planned kisses everyone dreams of. It was one of those our-mouths-smashed-and-we-want-to-pull-away-but-we're-too-shocked kisses.
Don't think I hated it. I enjoyed it, but I wished our kiss wouldn't catch me off guard.
“Snowfur, you'd better go. Healers can't fall in love with others!!!†I whispered. Snowfur closed her eyes and shook her head. “In love with you? No way. I'm sorry, Duskpelt, but you're too full of yourself. And yes, I know you like me. GET OVER IT.†She walked away. Dawnfur walked and sat down beside me. I sat down, too. “Tough,†she sighed. “We seemed so perfect together.†She laughed and shook her head. “Dusky, you ARE too full of yourself. You don't realize that she doesn't like you at all. Even after that kiss!â€
In my cave that night, I dreamt that she was a beautiful angel-wolf who loved me. “I've always loved you,†she said, wrapping her wings around me, pulling me close to her. “M-me t-t-too...,†I stuttered. She nuzzled against my chest and I licked her head.
“DUSKPELT!! WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING!!!??†I wake up to find myself licking Snowfur's real head. “I, uh, probably sleepwalked. I'm sorry.†I feel myself blush and feel better when she blushes, too. “Go away,†she commands. “Playing hard to get, mate?†I joke. She smiles. “Yeah, that's it,†she laughed. I walk back to my cave and on my way, I trip over an old zen wolf.
“Um, it's late. What are you doing?†I say, not bothering to apologize. “I forgive you, Dusk! I'm just meditating. I couldn't help but overhear that you loved Snowfur?†If it wasn't so dark, he'd see that I was blushing so much. “Naw, we just, um, kissed.†The old, zen wolf laughed. “Want me to teach you how to get the ladies, especially Snowfur?†I shrugged. “Um sure. Tomorrow. Thanks.†The wolf disappeared. “Woah, what?†I shrug it off. Tomorrow, I'll learn how to win Snowfur's heart.
