I have seen multiple people saying that "We need to get over 9/11" or "9/11 is a lie".
NO. WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 3000 innocent lives were lost that day. Men and women rose to the challenge to save their fellow countrymen. Not only in taking a plane back from the hijackers to prevent the White House from being hit, but also in the attempt to rescue people from the World Trade Center before the towers crashed into the ground. 9/11 was a day of bravery and sacrifice. The firefighters trying to rescue people knew that the towers could collapse at any moment. Did they back down? NO.
And who are we, as their fellow countrymen, to forget them and all they had done to help others? Who are we to try and forget the past, when an act like this is an extreme possiblity? What makes us a nation, what keeps us together, if we chose to forget what makes us Americans? We are nothing. Those who neglect the past are doomed to repeat it. Remember 9/11. Remember it so that you know that we are a nation, indivisible by any invading force or terrorist strike. We can overcome any obstacle, any war when we work together.
We trust each other we trust tje world.
We trust that we will remain safe and that someone will try to save us from our dangers if something happens. We as a natio did not expect a terrorist attack to happen. The nation as a whole was shocked, not knowing what to do. But the heroes that rose that day are heroes with more courage than most others. We trust each other to take care of each other. Those who died trusted that we would remember them. And we shall not.
AMERICA WILL NEVER FORGET.
What I read in the internet, the 9/11 attacks were alredy planned since the late 90's. It's date September 11, 2001 was chosen because the number of the month was 9 and the number of the day was 11 so the number we call for emergency is 911 so that is why the date 9 11 was chosen (I know everyone knows this).
I was 3 years old when 9/11 happened. Years later, when I was about 9 years old, that's when my mother told me what happened, and when I saw the movies World Trade Center and United 93, that's when I started to know more about 9/11.
I may not come from the U.S. (i'm Puerto Rican) but I will never forget about 9/11.
If you remember the news reports (I don't know how old you are.), all the planes used in the attacks were bound for the west coast. Such flights were chosen because they were long-distance domestic flights, so security checkpoints were weaker, and the planes had much more fuel to be used as explosives.
The massive weight of the collapsing buildings put stress on the steel beams, as did jet fuel burning at such a high temperature that the strength of the steel was lessened. Remember that metal does not have to melt to be weakened. You can ask any jeweler that.
Nothing happened on that day outside what terrorists have been capable of doing for a while. Osama bin Laden has been leading or planning attacks against the US since the mid 1990s, when US Military troops in the Middle East were warned about him, his followers, and his large funding from Saudi oil.
Nooblord8 - You do realize that several tons of concrete scraping and falling against broken gas lines can explode, right? Jet fuel seeping into offices with flammable supplies and equipment can explode, as well. Please keep your "Bush planned it" conspiracies elsewhere.
I remember everything as it was yesterday...I was 16. A Junior at Cohoes High School...I was actually meeting with my school psychologist at the time [I had many issues as a teen]of the 2nd collision. I remember everyone in this 1 class watching the news, & I was trying to peek in the window to see what was going on...I had no clue until I actually got home that day. 9/11 is considered the worst disaster in history, but it has brought out the best of Americans...the charitable side. It has shown that we as a country canpull together in time of undathomable disaster to help our fellow human's when they are in need. Never forget 9/11,never forget the innocnt lives that fell victim-both adults & children alike...instead remember. Use their senseless deaths to help those in the future so we don't EVER have to deal witha tradgedy like this again.
all i remember was my mom crying and the towers burning on the TV, when the first one colapsed my mom cried more and more, and took me out from the TV..
My dad is Pilot
and My mom is flight attendant
and i'll be a pilot...
A plane is their working place and will be mines too, its sad to see that those evil people used innocent people in a plane against more innocent people...something like that, and involving planes.. its ...horrible
I am not american, but what hapenned in 09/11, i will never forget too
Arch - Several nearby towers fell because of the weight of debris falling from the sky. The smaller towers were not just other WTC ones but businesses and a church.
I was up late the night of Sep 10th, talking with friends online. I finished off some profitable eBay auctions for items a friend and I bought from garage sales to resell. I remember the email, which I rediscovered months later: "Today is turning out to be a great day." That was dated 2:00am Sept 11th. Obviously, I was wrong.
I woke up to get ready for college the next morning. My mom was in the phone with my dad. Eglin Air Force Base was all up in arms. One of the Twin Towers had been hit. No one knew how big of a plane hit it and why. Speculation was that a small private plane collided due to engine trouble or pilot error. We turned on the news. Cameras were facing toward the smoking tower. Then, at nearly the same time, the FAA reported that a commercial jet went off radar, and the second tower was hit. It was obvious by that time the cause of the crashes.
You beat me to the creation of this blog...every word I agree with. Thank you for making this.
I was in my first year of Kindergarden when it happened..we didn't know what was going on..the principal made an announcement, "The World Trade Center has just been hit by rterrorsts, and there has been an attack on the Pentagon. Please turn on your televisions to channel __." I remember it like it was yesterday...all the teachers were panicked as they ran to spread the news. The truth spoken:
It's not the end. We're still here. We new it was all O.K. when the sun rose up. When the birds started to sing again..and at night, we all still went to bed. America was asleep again.
America will never forget what happened on September 11, 2001.
I was like, 6, when that happened, I didn't even, KNOW what, was happening, I think I was in school, it must have been a truly, DEVESTATING time in our lives, the people who watched, and the kids who couldn't remember! X(
A long time ago, when I was a like 5-6 when 9/11 occoured, my mom cried a lot, but I didn't know why she was crying. She was on the computer, staring at people whom died, there pictures and names. And some sad music played... I'll never forget 9/11. Even if I didn't witness it on T.V. or anywhere else. In fact, my 5th grade teacher had a good friend who died and he was on the plane! Yeah, sometimes I might think of it and cry. You've reminded me of it. And THATS why I always a slight fear of flying in a plane. 9/11.
