An administrator here told me to write an article on "trolling" websites after my own was constantly being attacked.
So there's been some issues in the past involving disrespect of websites and the users on them, but now it has, put simply, crossed the line.
After experiencing the oh-so-famous hacker attack on DSiPlaza a few months ago, I beefed up security strongly. Yet users still attempted to bypass bans and other security and post rude content about specific users (me mostly) for no apparent reason.
Now, I most likely have one of the strongest homemade security systems around, filled with IP blocks, cookie filtering, password checks, and much, much more; just today I beefed up my security script a little. Yet those users keep coming back to cause more mayhem.
Why?
That's all I ask, why?
What if YOU owned a website? An extremely popular website, one you worked extremely hard on for a very long period of time, with nothing but your bare hands and mind? Then one day, that one user comes and ruins it all. Your reputation and your data go down the drain, your website suddenly dies, because of that one person.
That one person can make all the difference.
And I ask,
why?
It's just plain stupid. You do something bad, you're off, you live with it and learn from your mistakes. That's what punishment is, right?
But if you try to escape punishment, you're hurting yourself as well as others. More mistakes are made and you not only become permabanned, you become hated.
Give it a rest. I'm sick of it.
Trolling, hacking, spamming, and everything else. Stop it.
This has been a public service announcement from your friendly neighborhood programmer addressing those who have made others feel bad in the past, have tried to avoid punishment in the past, or are currently doing so or may do so.
It's just going to hurt you in the end, why ruin it for everyone else?

Some hacker hacked DSU the other day. Banned everyone, even admins:/. People had to 'hack themselves unbanned' to get onto the chat page o.o Since then I've allowed alts on my site And, Overlords have special commands o_0
Isn't it obvious? The trolls are so jealous, so [b] ambitious [b], that they hack. They think they get revenge somehow because it's not fair the creator has a cool, popular website and they don't.
