This is the 1/3 part of the beginner's guide to airsoft.
So you got a sniper rifle? I know that this is one of the most awesome and painful (to others) position in a team.
Its more than just hiding and firing those plastic BBs. Its doing it undetected.
Firstly, you should find a good position to hide in or conceal yourself. Make sure you know where the most action is happening and stay away from it. Plan an escape route in the event you are caught, but that is unlikely.
Get in your spot, make sure your barrel is not sticking out as this is a dead give away to enemies.
Only look down the scope when you see a target. In the meantime look around for incoming players. If you see a target, take aim.
Okay, your looking down the scope at this guy totally unaware of your postition. Steady. Make absolutely sure you will hit, and fire.
You should see a reaction (Oh, it gets funny) in this case you should move away fairly quickly, so he has no chance of finding you. If you miss, don't take a couple of pot shots at him, instead make sure he didn't notice, then fire at will.
In the worst case senario, you will get caught and must run try to dodge your those painful shots, zig zag as you run and go into bushes and behind trees. If you manage to lose him, get away from your postition as fast as possible, and go back hiding n sniping.
This concludes my tutorial of being an airsoft sniper, see ya next time!
i sniped my sister once with a nerf gun, i missed, but she was totally confused when the bullet flew past her head and she couldn't figure out where it came from. however, she found me after i started laughing....
I just like to be extra careful when I snipe. I wish I had a real ghillie suit. To me, duct tape + leaves and grass = ghillie suit. Many of my friends also play, our matches get intense.
im actully part of an airsofting team where i live and im there main sniper ive noticed that its actully quite hard to spot a sniper (me) regardless if they hear where the shot comes from. as long as i have a ghillie suit im basically invisible to the untrained eye
