What I'm about to say, I have yet to confirm.
Todays main stream musicians, Eminem, Rihanna, Drake, Whoever. It seems like their producers are rushing them to write their songs. and I know for a fact that they modify and sterilize their music with their studio machines.
I know for a fact that instead of recording a singer singing repeatedly, they have them do it justa few times, and correct their voice with a little thing called auto-tune. Not to mention some artists (Kesha) use ONLY autotune to make people think she can sing like a robot.(Shes not do it for that reason, but thats what she sounds like.)

Also, (another unconfirmed but somewhat true fact) todays musicians don't have any instruments backing them in the studio. It's all garageband-type magic. (Garageband is a Mac program that lets you make music without the need to record yourself.)
The music being so clean, and so ill-talented, makes me hate it.

This is why I listen to older music. Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Scorpions, Styx, U2, Tom Petty, etc.

Musicians have complained about technology killing the soul of the music. Not in those words, but in essence, that was what they were saying. Jimmy Page, Jack White, The Edge (Guitarists, From Zeppelin, White Stripes, and U2) have especially complained about all the technology taking the talent out of music. Talent is soul, Talent in music form is soulful music. It's what todays musicians dont use (or lack), Talent.

I myself am trying to become a guitarist. I suck, but I'm getting there. Less than half dozen people I can play a guitar. I can count, 1, 2, 3. Those are my friends. 2 of them actually play old music, one of them able to play many Boston and Tom Petty songs.

Talent. Its what I'm trying to acheive. I want to bring back the soul of the music. and forget todays producers. They want quick perfection. Soulful music....You can't rush it, and its only perfect when its all talent, no tech.....

Waste Management dumped the trash in the wrong place. I DESPISE TODAYS Pop (<--underline that) I listen to the "pop" from the 60s to the 90s. because dammit, Thats when pop was rock and when rock rocked. back in the 60s it was blues, blues rock, psychedelic rock. In the 70s it was What is now classic rock, hard rock, soft rock, and metal. In the 80s it was hard rock, metal, heavy metal.

I might be leaving a few genres out, but that doesn't matter when I'm trying to get MY message through.
I'm not going along with other "kiddies" and their "cool" ways of hating pop. In fact, Bruno Mars is part of todays pop, right? Well, I like his song, grenade.

As for other comments and remarks, YES auto tune can change the pitch of screaming. Let me get my hands on auto tune and I'll make it turn an E major into an A minor.

Eminem may have a soul, but Im not too pleased with his newer songs.

In iCarly, yes I know its a show, but they made a bad singer sound good, and that is deff possible in te real world.

I love video game music, 90s-60s music, and some metal, but I have the "pop" music. Heck, even all the songs from Super Mario Galaxy are recorded from a real orchestra.

80s New wave mostly didnt have instruments just synthesizers like New Order. But I do agree that todays music suck, everywhon should listen to 50s-90s and listin to Morrissey.

I love when people don't agree with something but won't be bitter and hate on it and the people that like it.

The blunt truth is that most kids here still are immature and foolish.

No, grades don't count as your being smart.

When kiddies go off and say and repeat what the cool kids say is when I label them as idiots.

Get your own opinion and take the time to think and find out about what bothers you. You'll just sounds VERY dumb when you bash something or someone just cus it's cool to hate on it.

I would just like to say, in response to WM, I Just ignore people who are against Pop music, but also, Pop Music itself. If I'm not a fan of it, I'm not going to flame it, or it's fans.

I didn't even bother reading most of the comments. Most of you sound like ignorant idiots.

Ke$ha can sing(Goodbye is a good one). She can play instruments, can write music and had amazing grades in school.

Pop music by nature IS generic and unoriginal.

You idiots really need to research and stop thinking the same way as everyone(Most of you probably think Justin Beiber can't song and think it's cool to think he looks like lesbian.)

No pop singer is a vocalist. Gaga is the vocalist right now. In pop all you need is a limited voice(Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Ke$ha) and some talent(Lady Gaga, Ke$ha are some of those).

Most of you are just plain dumb. Autotune CANT make a bad singer sound good. It only polishes tracks.

Ke$ha is electro pop. autotune gives her the effects she wants in her songs(like in Take It Off).

Most of you are just kids that say the same thing as everyone(Autotune sucks, bieber kid is a lesbian, pop sucks, theres no real music).

Same thing is said over and over. None of you even research what you "hate" and just complain and whine about it.

If you don't like pop then turn off the radio.

BTW, I'm fans of Ke$ha, t.A.T.u., Crystal Castles, Hadouken!, and Does It Offend You, Yeah?.

Sorry if I offended anyone. I'm just tired of kiddies of follow the crowd.

The facts in this blog explain very well the reason why I quit listening to music on the radio. I like that organic sound music had before an entire band was generated from a synthesizer.

Having taken several recording arts classes in college, I know the short-cuts that are being taken in music these days, and the low-quality to the music shows. You can learn the listen to voices of singers and mentally remove the flange, reverb, chorus, echo, compression, expansion, and other effects. Their voices are left sounding like a small child whining for candy while beating pots and pans on a kitchen floor. What happened to actual singing and playing talent?

Accepted, Reason:I likewhat you're saying. Todays 'POP' culture lacks anykind of actual talent, their search isbased on looks. Sex sells, So in knowing that, they don't care about how talented the person is...if they can make them 'SEXY' then they're willing to fake things when it comes to thelack of talent
