-John Jacob Astor, one of the richest men in the world at that time, was on board with his new and pregnant wife Madeline. She lived, he diden't, and when the baby was born in August she named him after his father.

-13 couples were on their honeymoon.
-50 Canadians were on board but only 15 lived.
-There was a murderer on board. He was fresh out of prision for killing his wife and worked as a boiler.
