-The lookout, Frederick Fleet, saw the iceberg at approx 11:39 pm, April 14.
-Some passengers said the iceberg was as high as the boat deck.
-One passenger in first class woke up after he felt a scrape and saw a big dark shadow out his porthole.
-At 12:05 Smith began to uncover the lifeboats.
-Andrews told Smith that the ship had about an hour and a half.
-The orchestra played until 2:15. Survivours said the last song was either Autumn or God Save Thee
-Only 709 people were saved. There was enough spaces in the lifeboats for little over 1100 but many did not believe it was sinking. As the Titanic began to sink more the boats got fuller.
-Lifeboat 13 almost crushed 15 coming down.
-After there was no more boats, people stood outside quietly, others went in, knowing their sad fate, and others jumped.
-The stress on the hull was so great the boat snapped in half. The funnels falling off sounded worse than thunder.
The hull broke because the bow went underwater. The Titanic was like in the water. THEN, it broke. And, most lifeboats left half-full. My two distant relatives, Celestia Bonnell and Erika Bonnell died. They were both in 1st class.
