What is Minecraft?

Minecraft is a sandbox game. When you start a new game, it drops you down (always on sand) in a randomally generated world. No two players worlds will be the same. You gather by day, and fight by night. At night monsters come out, these range from archer skeletons to exploding creepers, or even the spider jockey (skeleton riding spider). Here is the face of true horror, the creeper.

Gameplay

The gameplay is nothing short of amazing. The landscape is breathtaking, and the nights are horrific (especially on hard). First thing you do: punch a tree. What do you do with the log? Make boards. Now sticks. Now pickaxe. See where the mineCRAFT part is now? Go find some coal, mine it. Attatch it to sticks, make torches to keep the hostile mobs from spawning in the light. Now, go get resources, the MINEcraft part. Make a magnificant castle, fight of baddies through the night, it's all up to you. That's what makes this game so amazing. Theres nothing like finding your first dungeon, getting the saddle and riding a pig!
Also, the game is still in Beta so it is updated with new content frequently.

Awesome

Sounds/Music

The sound effects are general. Footstep on grass, zombie moan, hiss (for spider) and more low-pitch hiss (for creeper). There is of course many more, but they are genaric. The music, helps this game shine even brighter. It is composed by C418. It is very peaceful. One reason it's so special, is it only plays every so often. Another, there is a wide range of songs. 12 in total, which may not seem like much, but when spread out, they last a lot longer.

Graphics

The graphics are not the best. They are mainly 16x16, very HD. As you can see from the picture below, it is not that great.

Pixel Paintings

BUT, before you go hatin on the graphics, there are mods that can fix that. There is texture pack support, you can completely reskin Minecraft! There is a mod that allows up to 256x256 textures. There are various sizes in between, but I prefer default. There are many many many many texture packs out there, so go ahead and search for your favorite! You can even make your own, its simple.

I just got the game like a week ago and I`m lovin' it. It`s only $20. So fun, and endless. There`s so much you can do, I`m still just learning.

Glee- I believe there is a sort of Online function, but, I've no confirmation on that, as I don't play. My friends keep bugging me to get it, but I'm saving any money-asking for 3DS...

nice review, textual content is considerably short but you worked with images and its all well presented!

The game looks interesting, i don't really care about graphics if the gameplay's intention is great.

is it online?

I may give it a try if it is.
