Speed The Ride is the iconic Permier LIM (Linear Induction Motor) Launched Shuttle Coaster that operates at the Sahara Hotel & Casino in Los Vegas.

The ride thrusts riders out of a launch tube onto the streets of Los Vegas at 40 MPH, and through an overbanked curve into a tunnel. The ride exits the tunnel and enters a vertical loop. Following the loop, the ride hits another set of LIMS, this time launching the ride to aa top speed of 70 MPH through the hotel's iconic sign. After several high speed turns, the ride travels up a vertical spike, until it comes to a stop. The ride is then repeated, while facing backward.

This icon ride operates in the NASCAR Cafe, which is attatched to the Sahara Hotel & Casino, and has been operating since the mid-90's, a pretty young coaster.

Last week, the Sahara Hotel & Casino announced that it would be closing on the 16th of June. The NASCAR Cafe, along with Speed the ride will close as well.
