Hey everybody, I was listening to music today -some old, some recent-ish- and I was thinking about making a weekly blog on music. There's not many music themed blogs here (from what i've seen so far), and i was wondering about doing a particular music blog. No, it won't just be my favorites and it'lll be informative.
Also, no, it won't be about today's pop, because if you know me, you'd know i'm not a fan of MOST of it (didn't say all of it). It'll be about oldies from a mixture of genres. The songs will be at least 20 years old and up, but maybe i'll throw some good sounding 90's, 00's and 10's songs in there.
For instance, let's say i might hear a James Brown song on the radio. When i have free time, i'll write a blog, making him Artist of the Week, with 5 or 6 songs of his (links'll always -i can just hope- be included). After i write about him, i'll add in my top 5 oldies songs of the week (sometimes links, sometimes no links). It won't just be 70's funk though, as i said above. The next week, i could write about Queen or The Surpremes. It'll be totally random, and mostly i'll rely on comments (especially for top 5's).
Ok, so tell me, do you like that idea? Does it sound original? Would you participate? Should i do it? The only rules would be, 1: No songs currently playing on the typical Top 40 pop station and 2: Comment, comment, comment!
Really, the goal of this is to bring real music back to the spotlight.
Thanks,
Jadon (The "Ja" (pronounced Jay) in JaMusicGurl16)
