The epic adventure THOR spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the mystical realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. As a result, Thor is banished to Earth where he is forced to live among humans. When the most dangerous villain of his world sends its darkest forces to invade Earth, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero.
3D Effects- The only reason I gave this movie 9/10 instead of 10/10, is simply becuase there was no 3D. I honestly didn't see the point of putting it in 3D if there were no 3D scenes. The preview for THOR had more 3D in it than the actual movie itself. Here to see it in IMAX 3D is a whopping 18$ which is obsurd and rediculous.
The overall movie was great. It explained everything from start to finish, unlike some movies that just skip to the action scenes. The movie itself was well put together. THOR and his giant hammer conquered all who stood in his way. His evil brother Loki was very mischievous and a very intersting character through out the movie. The IMAX experience made the movie even greater enhancing the effects. One important thing is that....
THOR will return in the Avengers.
Box Office: On Friday, Thor claimed an estimated $25.7 million at 3,955 locations, handily dominating the day. The Marvel Comics adaptation's opening salvo wasn't as thunderous as Fast Five's $34.3 million. nor recent summer starters like the Iron Man movies and X-Men Origins: Wolverine ($35.3 million), but it was close to Clash of the Titans (2010) ($26.1 million).
Thor had the third highest first-day gross yet for the beginning of a Marvel movie franchise after Spider-Man and Iron Man. In terms of estimated attendance, though, Thor's opening day ranked below Hulk, X-Men and Fantastic Four but was still a bit ahead of Daredevil. Other Marvel movies that fared better on the attendance front included The Incredible Hulk and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Oh yeah..Don't forget to stay for the extra scene at the end of the credits as all Marvel movies has a extra clip after the credits.
