No. It does not. I'm not afraid of haters. I have many already, so I'll go ahead and say I ran into one of the most idiotic people I've ever had the displeasure of speaking to for an extended period of time yesterday.
Apparently, Socialism works because China is Socialist and it is "Successful." China is only in a time of success because they had to allow for more freedom to the private sector to avoid imploding from their own idiocy and way of governing. In other words, they had to bring in some Capitalism to keep from having an imminent economic collapse.
Yeah, China is real successful. Look at how their socialism worked out for them.
Best part, in order to maintain their momentum and keep from collapsing, they will have to keep handing out more freedom to the private sector. More Capitalism to keep afloat.
I'm not saying Capitalism is the best way to go. Oh, wait. Yes I am. Look at China's history. Does anyone remember reading about General Mao? Of course not. Part of the after-effects of massive Leftists rule (Currently) is reorganization of education in schools. You aren't supposed to read about him. Maybe you have?.. That's another story...
His dictation and terrible Socialism reform caused millions of people to starve to death. I'd say go talk to one of the people who experienced his rule if you don't believe me, unfortunately, no one is alive who survived.
"Mao didn't make good decisions. Socialism with good decisions works and is very successful!"
No. There is no good decision that will benefit anyone through socialism. It is way of ruling that has never worked in any time in history. Want another good example? Russia. My homeland. Not Communist anymore. Why? Simple, they had to allow more freedom to privately owned businesses to keep from imploding on themselves. Now it's socialist, one step down from Communism.
China kinda scares me after I learned about the whole tienanmen square massacre thing and how most Chinese people don't even know it happened because the government hides it o.e They also have sucky rights there and a lot of people don't get paid rightfully for their work.. I don't really know what kind of "ism" I support.. they all sound pretty bad to me.
DethDude - I'm not surprised that you've never heard of Mao. It's just another example of how the school system is a big failure. Let me tell you about him: Mao was the communist revolutionary leader of China in the mid 1900s. He is the biggest mass-murderer in the history of the world, responsible for the deaths of 70 million of his own people. Hitler and Stalin come nowhere near the number of deaths, but they are covered in schools because of their direct contact with the USA in Eorkd War II.
First, communism is extremely violent. It spreads through violent overthrows, and uproars are silenced through force. Freedom is completely removed, as the government monitors and runs every single aspect of peoples' life.
Similarly, socialism also throws out freedom. People lose the right to make decisions on their own, part of the God-given free will. Instead, the government 'thinks' for everyone.
Remi- Very well, excepting the fact that I don't believe in an afterlife. How has earthly rule been working out? Well, no? Peacful murders in our beautiful alleyways, wonderfully soothing recessions, and scenic terrorism in our gorgeous third-world countries.
God, AIWS is so hard to think with.
A lot of good information about this true history. I never heard of Mao. I must check that out at the book store. I'll check back when you have more to it.
Time to start a religous flame war in comments. xD
I don't believe any form of human government can stay working for an extended period of time. I continue to stay nuetral in polotics until the world comes under Heavenly rule.
In the way that the standard political spectrum goes left to right (radical, progressive, moderate, conservative, reactionary), there is a "vertical" spectrum, too. This runs top to bottom as totalitarian, capitalism, individualism.
Socialism runs the whole left/right span under totalitarian. Within socialism is the left (communism) and right (fascism). Capitalism runs left/right in the vertical middle area. In the case of the United States, the generally-accepted location is slightly right of center and slightly down of middle. China today has what is called "state capitalism". It lies far left and partway up.
Lenin once asked his economic advisor what was better: communism or capitalism. He expected the answer to be communism so that he could further his propaganda. The advisor came back with a pro-capitalist stance. He said that with capitalism, one has seasons like a year: There is a robust summer, followed by a market crash autumn, followed by a gloomy winter, followed by a rebirth in the spring. Communism would experience the autumn and winter, but there was no competitive incentive for innovation to bring about spring and summer. This advisor met an untimely death in the gulag.
socialism seeks to manage the economy through deliberate and collective social control. Communism, however, seeks to manage both the economy and the society by ensuring that property is owned collectively, and that control over the distribution of property is centralized in order to achieve both classlessness and statelessness.
It is similar though, in that they both seek to avoid the problems that capitalism can cause. Communism is a bit worse in that respect, mostly because of it's political venues, but socialism is a lot more watered down and a lot less horrible in terms of government.
Again, not taking sides, just pointing things out.
Neon, that might be the absolute most retarded thing I've heard all day.
Communism and Capitalism are two completely different things that cannot co-exist in the same country together. I'll make a blog explaining how Capitalism works.
And Nope.jpg. As of right now, China has eased back on the more communist rule.
I'd be happy to provide a chart that kinda shows the line from total anarchy to total dictatorship. In order for a prosperous country, there must be a balanced economy and way of ruling.
Capitalism--Socialism--Communism
To say socialism and communism are two different things would be true.. But they aren't too different. Communism is just somewhat more controlling. Communism sets more limits. Both Socialism and Communism eventually lead to economic collapse.
Capitalism is a real beautiful thing if it's working correctly. The downfall of the United States was not capitalism, but laws and rules made to control. I can explain what happened here too. Maybe another blog; right after the one that explains how massive leftists rule in the US is transforming the the education for children. That means you too high school students.
Funny, when put that way... So, Capitalism isn't really much different though, you have a few set people at top, and all of us squabbling Turkeys trying too "have a say in matters". Illusions, people.
I believe that the user you were debating this with (I remember who it was, just not naming anyone) was merely pointing out how they have just recently started adopting socialist tendencies.
Socialism just does not work. Whomever that user was obviously didn't know what they were talking about when attempting to use China as a rebuttal. Capitalism is by no means perfect, but it is far more suitable for business that Socialism.
