Alex yelped as Maddie's claws dug into the flesh of her left sholder, leaving three bleeding gashes. Alex, unable to use her front left leg, tryed everything to defend herself from Maddie.
The crowd were totally shocked, unable to decide what to do. This was a fight between the alpha and a fellow pack member, both of whom they were sworn to protect.
Tag, eager to do something, jumped onto the stage and froze. He had no idea how to help. He had his reputation to uphold. If he attacked Maddie there was no way he'd ever become alpha but he couldn't stand the sight of Alex in a bloody pile on the floor.
Alex whimpered and yelped at every attacked Maddie threw at her. She spotted Tag a few feet away and stared pleadingly into his eyes, on the verge of giving up.
That look of desperation made Tag's mind up for him. Within seconds he had knocked Maddie both off Alex and off the stage. However, while doing this, Tag's back claw had slashed deep across Alex's right eye.
Alex yelped once more then fainted from the pain. Tag howled and grabbed Alex in the least painful way he knew and dragged her as far into the forest as needed so they were totally hidden.
Maddie rose from the floor to see both Tag and Alex had gone. 'Where are they? Where are Tag and Alex?' She snarled at the crowd that had swarmed her. They all looked round, none of them had seen them leave.
'I might know where they went.' Growled a voice from the trees.
'Geoff, how nice of you to make an appearance.' Maddie smiled at the mysterious voice.
