If you have a small single connection to the Internet then you most probably know by now that troubled songtress Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment.
The intensely soulful singer was born September 14, 1983 and died on July 23, 2011. She was 27 years old. The cause of death is unknown.
However, it's no secret that the soulful singer had an addiction to alcohol and drugs, as a result, overdose is thought to be cause.
Everyone that knew the talented diva always said she was a kind and loving person. She was also said to be one that constantly looked for love. She felt lonely, apparently. I for one, do believe she was an amazing person. However, just like everyone who knew her personally, I also think she was surrounded by horrible people.
I want to go into a rant about not giving into peer pressure but I'm not up to it. I don't feel like wasting my time talking about a stale topic that's always being discussed in school.
I rather talk about the lessons that resulted from her death. I would hate to sound cheesy but that's what I want to touch base on for a brief moment.
If someone you know is an addict, please make extra extra sure to help them out. Try to talk to them and help them want to help themselves.
I know it can be awkward or stressful trying to help an addicted friend or family member but you need to try! You need to try to help them out how every which way you can!
You never know, you may lose that person next week in an overdose. Life is so precious and I believe everyone should feel the greatness of having one.
I know this news is late and this post is short but I just to give everyone a reminder to help out others. Life is so short, we should all live it to it's extent...
"If you admire somebody, you should go ahead and tell them.... People never get the flowers while they can still smell 'em." -Kanye West
actually, the cause of death is known, she used to be an alcoholic, she became so bad, that she actually needed alcohol to survive, and she tried to quit, and she did, and she died, I know it makes little to no sense, but it happened
Zoe, are you serious? That's so sad. Is there anyone attempting to help?
DJ, Amy was an English soul singer. She was best known for being a drug user. Her death was expected but everyone just thinks she would make it out alive
Koby, everyone's taste is different and no one's is the best lol (I'm not a fan of Beeth or Wayne)
Ram, pop music > everything else.
Hull, she was a bit of a one hit wonder in the USA but she was still kept under the spotlight.
I do agree with Hull. I prefer classical music and anything that doesn't involve auto-tune crap or someone shouting about sex into my ears, thank you.
Anyway, Admiral, I do realize that, but if they reject your offer for concern a number of times, it's better to just let them continue. However, I've never had to confront any family or friend about it, so this is all speculatory[if only that were a word, XP] opinion. If I do, I'm sure my view would change to some degree.
WM - I've never heard of that song. Was it a one-hit wonder sort of song? Music has been so horrible ever since it all became angry diva rock or gangster rap (that includes angry divas) that I gave up and just listen to the news on the radio these days. I guess my degree in recording arts gives me an ear for a different type of music than producers currently push.
Drwho's right, it was the symptoms of withdrawal, stopping so fast, when 70% of your blood is alcohol.
"Life is so short, we should all live it to it's extent... "
That means something different to everyone. To some, it means "Try anything and everything!"
To others, it means "Avoid anything dangerous and live to 102!"
I understand you should help your friends and family if you see that the drugs or alcohol are negatively affecting them, but in all honesty, I think that causes a kind of spite-reaction within them, consequently making them do it more...
Lol, I tried to help my best friend who got into drugs and told her I cared about her and her health and didn't want her to do them, and then she turned psycho and spammed inappropriate things on my facebook wall, and spread rumours, and told all of her friends that I was being a.. "meanie" (not the real word used, but you get it) to her because I was jealous about her or something :S.. hmm. Yeah, it doesn't work, once you start drugs you're completely changed apparently.
Who is Amy Winehouse? Is she the heir to a company that stores wine or something? It's sad that she did herself in, especially in such a manner reported, but I don't know why people keep going on about someone who no one knows existed beforehand.
