I've seen so many people get Gameshow Host powers ;-;, and many of them are making gameshows. When they make those gameshows, half of the people don't know how to play it. So, here's a blog explaining SOME (if not all) the possible types of a gameshow.
1st: Trivias
In Trivia kinds of Gameshows, the host will ask some questions depending on the type of the Trivia. For example, if there's a song trivia, the host will ask (for example), "What was the best song in 1998?" or "Who made the song?"
I don't think people should make trivias about other people/themselves, cause it's not fair, not ALL people know that information.
Acronyms
I've seen this not known a lot.
Acronyms are abbreviations formed from the initial components in a phrase or name. So, to play this Gameshow, the Host will put a word/random letters capitalized. What you gotta do is make an acronym for it. How to do that? Take the letters, and turn them into an understandable sentence. ExamplePIC= Epic Pie Is Cool
Anagrams
Anagrams are scrambled words. For example, sirth is shirt but scrambled. Siht is this (not the other word ;-. The Host may add a hint, or the category to the title.
"Name that word"
This Gameshow is only hosted by Emford01 so far.
The host gives out 2 or more words to make another word. For example, Fire Stick = Torch, and Engine Gas Metal = Car/Plane.
Something that PosessedCarson suggested:
How GSHs view Gameshows.
(name of the color of the circle): (meaning)
Blue: Title of the Gameshow
Red: What the Host just posted
Orange: Question input box
Green: The name of who answered
Yellow: The points of that person
Black: The answer of that person
Brown: Give point to a person
Purple: Clear that person's points
Cyan: Give a win point which counts towards the person who wins the gameshow (who has the most points). The point goes towards the leaderboard. So far I'm the one with most Win points in the leaderboard (The leaderboard is right in the gameshows section).
That's what they SEE. Can you nublets see a Chatbox? No, they can't see what you type in the chatbox. However, they can see your answers, I'll explain that, too.
This is what you'll be looking at during a gameshow:
Cyan: Title of the Gameshow
Black: The Host of the Gameshow
Green: In this box, the top 3 players with the most points will appear
Blue: The question box. Here, questions from the Host will appear
Yellow: Answer box. You put your answers HERE, not in the other box. The last answer you put appears there
Pink: The Chatbox. Here, you can CHAT, not put answers. This chat is connected to the "Game" chatroom.
Hopefully this helped you.
Whether this gets accepted or not, I'll keep it so if anyone else asks what's a gameshow, I'll link this blog.
This makes me want to host an acronym (spell check?) game. I love doing those. Maybe I'll do one tonight. Be sure to look out guys! ;P
One section should go to how the hosts' view is different from the player. I'm not sure if whoever wrote this is a gameshow host or not, but I've seen hosts getting flamed for not knowing. 1) Hosts cannot see who is in first or second. It just has the number of points in parentheises (spell check?) so when there's a tie, we dont know who the auto-place put as first, second, etc. 2) It takes a lot of time to think of a question, wait for responses, and type, so the usual comment "hurry up" is really annoying. 3) WE CANNOT SEE THE LOWER CHAT BOX. So many confused questions directed to the host have gone there and just make the player even more confused. 4) Cheating is another issue I've had to deal with. Whether its using google (which some hosts allow depending on the game) or telling answers via chat. I don't know if HullBreach is going to make a rule, or admins warn... Noobs... :/ 5) Profanity in the answer box. Only in which the host can see. Most of us hosts are not as fortunate to get moderating powers or weathy enough to buy their own camera (for screenshots). I usual just disquallify that player on the spot but continuous profanity must be confirmed with an admin. (Anyone with ideas to that solution given my situation, please reply) 6) Accidental spam is something that users don't understand usually when they have never heard of this. Its basically a person who sends one message and just leaves. The way it works is that it keeps the last answer someone sent and keeps it there. So if a bunch of people join, send a message via answer box, and leave (and I have had this happen before) I'm left with 3 or 4 active players and 7 or 8 dormit players. So please keep that in mind.
I get difficulties with hosting mostly Acronyms, but counttless others...When some of the players do not pay attention to the rules, and they give non-related answers. Also, when they ask for points, I usually mess with them by tapping the "Point" button rapidly, and then hitting "Clear" and no longer giving them points even if they resume playing.
You should put that they should not ask for points, and normally a gameshow host will not "let" another player win.
