Hello members of Dsipaint! Good morning, afternoon, and evening.
So like the Title says, "You got Your FF in my Monster Hunter!" If you know what FF means you know it stands for Final Fantasy. A big hit series of RPGs and Turn-Based game mechanics. If you know Monster Hunter, you know this is a game of exploration, quests, upgrading, and crafting weapons and armor with pieces of monsters you destroy.
Unfortunately, this blog is not about those games. Instead, this blog is about God Eater Burst. (Gods Eater Burst in the USA) It was released on the PSP.
God Eater Burst is a mix of Role Play with a character you customize smooshed together with the Monster Hunter elements you thirst for. I absolutely love this game. You have the ability to customize pretty much all features you can dream of. Voice included.
The game gets its name from, well, the story and how everything works. The game takes place after an apocalypse. The world is a worn rugged waste-land. All turned to chaos after Creatures dubbed "Aragami" started appearing world wide destroying all that we know and love. In a last human stronghold branch known as the Far-East Fenrir branch. You play as a rookie who just joins the branch to test new type God Eater (genetic weapon made from a dead Aragami) The God Eater is your weapon sword like thing, as a new type, you have the ability to switch between Gun and Sword Mode. An ability the old types do not possess. This makes you a valuable ally in all kinds of battle. But, all goes haywire the instant your Leader goes missing during a mission. He was cool too...
(Much like the kinds of blood you are able to use in hospitals, in game you can only use a God Eater select to your DNA)
For crafting, you can customize, upgrade, or craft a new Gun, Shield, or Sword if you have the resources. You obtain resources or materials by completing missions and whatnot. In addition to using them for upgrades and etc.. You also have the ability to customize your Bullets. This feature is not easy to use but can be operated to make successful powerful bullets that are far better than the one which can be purchased in-game.
The God Eater is not just two weapons and a shield in one, however. Remember when I mentioned materials? You get materials by devouring defeated enemies. You might be thinking, "Whaaaaaa? My character eats fresh meat?"
Not exactly, the weapon has two charge attack features. One is a charge for your main Slashing attack, the other is a huge wolf like mouth that grows out of the sword and then NOMNOMNOMS on the dead carcass. When you finish, you are rewarded with materials only from that species. If the enemy is alive and you do so, you go into a Burst mode. In Burst mode, your character uses less Stamina when jumping and attacking. You get a boost in all areas of combat basically. Beware, as it is only for a limited time.
There are roughly 15 missions per difficulty. As far as I know there are only 10 difficulties. The story mode itself is long. Aside from beating the game there are side missions. The story doesn't just end there. As of 2012, there are rumors of a sequel to the game. This would be nice because overall the game-play is addictive, the controls are easy, and they can be customized if you find them difficult to use. The story is very interesting and will keep you playing for more.
I'll update this when I have more time. I've been itching to write this.. Check back for more updates and features.
