The demon's giant red tongue lolled out of it's mouth as the creature wormed it's way through the destroyed window.
"Oh my God!" Some horrified mundane screamed. I sighed, irritably.
"And this is why we don't travel with mundane's!" I growled at Anubis. He shrugged, getting up from his seat. The demon made eyecontact with me as I rose slowly to my feet.
He was one ugly bugger.
Long, misshapen ears jutted out from his head, with was slightly rectangular in shape. His broad, grinning mouth was lined with rows of teeth every bit as jagged as the broken glass around me. His body was compact and wolf-like, with a long, barbed tail.
"Good doggy," I coaxed, never breaking eye contact with the creature "That's right, good, good doggy... demon... thing..." A mundane from my right screamed at the top of her lungs. I whipped my head towards her, frustrated by her outburst.
"Could you please shut up?" I snapped.
And- of course- that's when the demn struck.
His- her? it's? I don't know- giant head snapped towards me, mouth opening and closing quickly. I ducked, then rolled to the right, popping up just in time to be tackled to the ground by the thing once again.
"Bad doggy!" I shouted, trying desprately to keep his snapping jowels away from my face "Very bad doggy-demon-thing!" Then suddenly the demon was gone. Colby had picked the creature up by it's throat and tossed it towards the opposite endof the bus.
"Idiot." he sighed, giving my a pained look before turning back to the demon. Virgil and Lukas were helping mortals out of the bus, shouting reassuring things to them as they ran. Things like 'It's all under control' and 'We're trained professionals, I swear.' and my personal favorite 'Ma'am, please take you child with you when you flee' Colby had managed to force the demon out of the bus, towards where I knew Shadow would be waiting with a crossbow. Two hands locked around both my arms and hauled me none-too-gently to my feet.
"Let's go, Fallyn." Anubis sighed
