So, my DSi... Well, it's been getting on my nerves lately. It will randomly shutdown. It doesm't matter if the battery is on it's final moments of life, fully charged, or even in the process of charging. It just doesn't stay on. Sometimes it stays on for hours, other times just mere minutes. I'm making this blog in hope of a way to stop this, or at least figure out what broke it. I'd send it in to be fixed but... 1, that would be hard in my positon and 2, I want answers first. I've tried Google, nothing. So here's what I've done to my DSi:
A few months back, my DSi had shut off on a full battery. I got frustarted, then confused and turned it back on, only for it to shut off again a few seconds later. I turn it on yet again, but it wouldn't start up. I figured the light showing how much battery is left was malfunctioning, so I plugged it in and turned it on. Nope, no luck doing that. About ready to punch a hole through the wall with anger I went downstairs and gave it to my dad and explained my problem. After watching him do... things to my DSi for what seemed like forever, it finally turned on. He handed it back to me and guess what happened. It shut off. I gave it to my dad again and he figured out that it'll stay on, as long as you hold down the power button for a really really long time when starting it up. After a day, it fixed itself and turned on normally, as well as stay turned on until the power button's hit. I believe that happened in June 2011. Now, December 9, 2011, it's happened again. The only difference being it turns on without hassle, but it's like a bomb with no timer. You never know when it'll go off. I left it alone yesterday hoping it'd fix itself like last time. In my utter stupidity I turn it on today thinking it's fixed, play a little, animate alot. Only to lose all that work. Irreplaceable work.
That's basically it, I don't bang it on stuff, I don't slam it shut, I don't dunk it in liquids. I don't know what happened. Is it anything go do with it being plugged in and done charging? I plug it to charge when I sleep, when I wake up it's done charging. I can't wake up in the middle of the night to unplug it when it's done. Or is it an overused battery? Honestly, if you think of even the slightest reason for it to be doing this, I'd love for you to tell me. True, I have a 3DS, but some things are on the DSi, that aren't on the 3DS. Oh, what king of batteries does a DSi take? Or does it need special ones?
*Edit* There was also one time when I had to let the battery die because it froze and I couldn't shut it off.
