While digging around a couple of weeks ago i found my old Snes (or super nintendo entertainment system) and a whole box filled with a "motherload" of games, upon opening this box one particular game caught my eye, The fourth installment of super mario bros. I.E. Super mario world my absolute favorite mario game ever, this game doesnt revolve around worlds (I.E. world 1-4, 2-3) instead its a big map of "dinosaur land" (which it is called in the introduction) it contains 7 main parts
1: yoshi's island
2: donut land
3: vanilla dome/cave
4: butter/cheese bridge
5: forest of illusion
6: choclate mountain
7: valley of bowser
Yoshi's island this is the most nostalgic part of the game. A switch palace is here (ill explain later) this is first game you'll find the famous character Yoshi his first apperance in any game is here. (this game also introduced level names)
Donutland a dounut looking island with many secrets such as a starworld entrance, also there is a new item/power up found here, it is the cape, essentially it was for flying to reach a secret point or to utilize its main pupose flying through levels.
Vanilla dome gloomey cave with water/lava based levels.
Chese bridge/butter bridge levels composed of riding little platforms guided on a line with Fuzzies (black pokey looking things also found in both paper mario) and saws which ride the line your platform is on.
Forest of illusion, trickey area with multiple levels that require a specific way to clear them.
Chocolate mountain sounds delicious! most levels have dark "lava" or "boiling chocolate" with crag areas and high plains.
Valley of bowser, trickey trickey trickey giant bowsers castle at the end of these 7 levels which are just like chocolate mtn.
STAR WORLD
five levels, 2 ways to clear, to clear correctly get the key. once beaten correctly you'll move on. colored yoshi's are introduced here.
