I'm not saying your opinions are wrong, but the way in which you have presented this blog makes it obvious that you want attention.

I agree with this blog. Some of you Christians and Muslims(WHO ARE NOT EVIL!) think Atheism is bad and terrible. Yet, killing people is considered just terrible to more than family and friends when, let's say, Obama dies(Will he get murdered? Might be, anyone reading this might, too.) about five hundred cops and/or larger numbers will be hunting the culprit down. Just let around ten cops do the work, just like an innocent woman could be killed. Aren't we all equal?

It's not just America, it's pretty much the same around the world, on different levels. Yes, our country is currently suffering for a plethora of penultimate perils, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't pay respect to the what this country has done. Even it's creation had an immense impact on the world. Everything has a good and bad side. Currently our bad side is showing badly, but that doesn't mean things can improve.

It's not neccessarily proof in that literalist approach you're taking to my comment.

Some may say they like tacos better than HONEY(check your spelling) because she finds the taste to be more appealing. Giving a logical response that is appropritately supported is fine, but pure opinion is pure nonsense unless you have logical and reasonable reason why not.

You know WHY the RP chats were created? My blog. It's nice. I don't get annoyed with people doing it in normal chat, and they don't have to hear my opinion on it.

If you want to sound the slightest bit credible in a way sort or form, you'd be wise enough to back up your opinion with credible evidence and facts.

When you use poor grammar and have a flimsy arguement, it makes your opinion look very unprofessional.

I was hoping this would be a breakdown of the faults of this historic pledge, but it`s just some complaints and crack-pot ideas. Your way isnt the only one; be glad you could even make it here. Many people, about a third, are homless and lack proper utilities that we take for granted. The world sucks, don`t whine about one of the better-off areas.

America was founded by Christians. And, sorry to break it to you, but most of America is Christian. No, I'm not saying that all Americans are Christians, but if the founding fathers were Christian (and believe me, they were), don't you think they'd mention something about God?
And in 1956, when 'In God We Trust' was adopted as a national motto, remember that this was a scary time. With the Cold War going on and worries of nuclear outbreak, where were the people going to turn to? The government? I honestly probably don't know what I'm talking about, but I think that I would trust a government that believes in the same god as I do, rather than not having any sense of security whatsoever.
And the concept of war- You're being a tiny bit biased. Think of it as a kid standing up for himself. If said kid didn't stand up for himself, he'd continue to be picked on. But if this kid finally says to himself, 'I don't have to put up with this', and punches the bully in the nose, what's that bully going to learn? Not to mess with the wrong person! It's a tragedy that soilders have to die, but they go in the force knowing what could happen! It's their choice to join the military or not, and I honestly think it's an honorable way to die!
And think of it this way. If the US didn't declare war on Iraq after 9/11, what do you think would happen? If my loved ones died that day, and the government didn't declare war, I'd be a little bit pissed. We're American for Christ's sake! I'm not going to want President Bush to go over there and calmly talk it out with the terrorists, who just rudely slammed their planes into my loved one's workplace. When emotions get in the way, there's a lot of violence. If the government didn't take action, the civilians would get angry and turn on them.

So I read the comments, and since I don't want to make 44 replies I'll answer them all in here

Hull-I made this right before bed, and had school so I couldn't change it until now :/

I lip sync the pledge, because even if I do disagree I want to at least honor the innocent people being killed in war.

Also, some people are confused on thism I am not American.
I moved here from Ireland 2 years ago. Even if I'm a citizen, I consider myself Irish.

Also, I might have been a little harsh on my blog, let me make it clear that I am NOT trying to insult anyone in any way. I am just clearly stating my point of view. I may have worded it harshly because I'm just that way :/

During the Imperialism Era (about 1850s), the United States took over several territories (like Cuba, Philippines, and Hawaii) and forced their own government on them, their ways, and language (which the US could learn the territories' native language) when those territories were minding their own business. First of all, gay marriage is slowly being accepted into the United States. So we are working to become equal. I would've agreed with you on that if we were fighting for slavery or women's rights. And yes, I'm aware that even today we haven't fully given blacks and women the same rights as American-born white men. Second of all, God is meant to symbolize unity, peace, and prosperitity. I don't believe in Budda, but I still recognise his figure as being wise. So even if you're atheist, "One Nation Under God" is pledging to be positive in our country. Lastly, war is going to happen wether you like it or not. It's our nature to fight for what we believe in. A good example is this blog. So you believe what you believe and I'll believe what I believe.

You do realise you can just lip sync the pledge of alligance right? That's an easy way if you don't like it. I honestly, though, don't understand the point of the pledge myself, at least why they say it in schools. Maybe I'm too young, but if there is some reason it better have logic in it.

Or do they make everyone say it one at a time or something? If they do that's really dumb, but I doubt any school does that...

Alot of kids in my class don't say the pledge [including me] for almost the same reasons that you don't. Ya, we're American. But since we live in a FREE country, shouldn't we have the FREEDOM to choose if we say a silly little pledge [I'm sorry if that offended anyone] or not? Personaly, I think its sad that they try to get young kids to say the pledge, what if they arn't from this country, we still make them say pledge there alligence to our country, maybe they plan to get as far away from here as posible

Gay Marriage: It isn't really the entire nation's fault that your own state doesn't allow gay marriage. Just have your wedding in a state that does allow it.

"One nation, under God", "In God we trust": Like COMMANDER said, the US was founded by Christians.

War: You would have just say back and relaxed during the Holocaust, when Pearl Harbor was bombed, or when the World Trade Center towers were destroyed?

Just because you're an atheist doesn't mean you should disrespect what this country is suposed to be about. I'm quite disappointed in our country. But I still believe saying the Pledge of Allegiance is the right thing to do. You're an American. If you don't like it, then leave.

Our country, the United States of America, was founded by Christians, and was built around Christianity.

I honestly have mixed feeling about accepting this blog, not because you're athiest or bi, but because people like you, who try to destroy the American spirit and deface our sacred scripts all because YOU don't believe in something that YOU dislike.

People like you who demand YOUR own ways over the TRADITIONAL ways, who try to contact war just because you see the word "God" written somewhere.

"With liberty and justice for all". You're young, and probably don't understand this. But you, like many youngsters who feel they are entitled to anything they demand, have misunderstood the meaning of this line. It doesn't mean "TOTAL FREEDOM TO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT AND POUT ABOUT IT IF YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR WAY", it means "With Liberty (liberation from Britain and to share liberty) and Justice (rightwise distribution of punishment and freedom) for all (not YOU, everybody else, including non-USA nations in need of these terms)".

Your blog is extremely selfish, not just the God part, being that seems to be the top of the drama these days anyways, but because you disrespect our Pledge of Allegence for your own terms.
