Clearing Some Things Up About Mormons.

I've heard quite a few rumors about Mormons, and me being an ACTUAL Mormon that these were the dumbest things I've ever heard. Seriously people. You're weird. Gosh.
'Kay, so some baisics. WE AREN'T ALIENS. Okay?! We are indeed human! We just kinda have an extension on our Bible. But that's batrely touching any detail. We can't smoke, drink, get tattoos, abuse drugs, or murder people. But why would you anyways? On top of that, we are straight, cannot have kids before we're married, must avoid rape, and cannot date until we're 16. Simple enough, right? NO. Sometimes, it can suck being Mormon, but you gotta have your priorities straight.
Now for some rumors I've heard that are pretty stupid. We aren't homophobes, we just aren't bi/gay ourselves. Yes, we can eat pizza. No, we aren't all emos. No, we aren't super religion obsessed weirdos. BYU is a Mormon college. The broadway show thing about us is... odd to say the least. But I know a few Mormons who like it. We aren't Jerusalum Witnesses, our missionaries only visit people who are friends if Mormons. If they aren't, we send young missionaries. We can wear short sleeved shirts. WE ALL DON'T LIVE IN UTAH. Where on Earth did you get that idea?! We can eat cheese. We are baptized when we're 8. My best friends have been in the Hill Cumorah Pageant. We can wear swim suits, but not bikinis. We can't show our boobs. At all. I admit, I'm not the best example of a Mormon. I'm working on it. WE DON'T SHARE ONE SINGLE BRAIN. We /do/ have emotions. We can get mad at you. We can say crap, suck, dang, darn, fudge, etc. But not the actual swear words. We aren't allergic to being social. Yeah... I know there's more, but I can't think of them at the moment.
Man, the things you people come up with. We're just humans. Oh, the purpose of life? THERE IS ONE. Plan of Salvation, thank you very much.
Any more questions about it, just ask. But not stupid ones. Please.

I don't know why people have to be mean to people with different religions. I myself as a Christian completely respect your beliefs. If I had to live as a mormon but still be a Christian I'd perfectly fit in o.o

Adultery you can actually avoid, simply by controlling your urges.

It is still possible for a heterosexual to 'get along' while following the no-adultery rule, however there is no way for a homosexual to do so, even if they too were to comply to the no-adultery rule.

While the sins you mentioned apply to all sexual preferences, they are somewhat undermined in the case of homosexuals, in that being homosexual is in its own right an equally punishable sin.

True, but i mean, the mormons i know, give a bad image about the religion, i don't think preaching all day on a single house is going to help.

It's just them then, not the whole religion. It seems like it wouldn't work, but I've seen it happen quite a few times. And they try to make it casual when they preach, I spent a whole session with one talking about The Legend of Zelda.

All I can say is this, it's word for word from "For the Strength of Youth: Fullifilling Our Duty to God."

"Homosexual activity is a serious sin. If you find yourself struggling with same-gender attraction, seek cousel from your parents or bishop. They will help you."

That's they only time it's talked about. And it's very homophobe.

We don't become Gods, we try to go back to living with God. We try to be pure, but of course it's impossible. That's what apologizing is for. And the wife is supposed to have the children, it's kinda impossible for a male to become pregnant.

If you wanted to be gay, you wouldn't want to be a Mormon. If you wanted to be a Mormon, you wouldn't want to be gay. It's extremely rare to want to be both.

We don't "shun and exile". The Mormon quits on their own, if they aren't being a Mormon, they tend to stop.
The probability of one turning out gay is pretty low, just because of the environment they're raised in. So I'm entirely sure, they might just become and inactive member.

1. I'd say no, if we did I'd probably have heard about it.
2. We believe the he taught during his life, and that Joseph Smith traveled across the US to teach it. That's how it started.
3. As I said, I'm not the best example of a Mormon. I still have yet to read both...
4. I've heard that once or twice, but it's not true. We just have one partner.
5. No, it's not a requirement. Unless you mean "Treat others as you would yourself" to be that requirement.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it BOTH a lifestyle choice AND something from birth? So many studies have proven or disproven both sides of the issue that it seems something like a Pundit's Square could determine the outcome. Personally, I don't care one way or another - since someone else's life is not my business - but I felt in a ranty mood today.

imo, humorous blogs aren't the ones that should be accepted. Most are pointless. Informational blogs, and blogs that you actually get something out of are good blogs.

Now, if I may, I'll continue expressing opinion elsewhere.

Nah bro, with a few exceptions, most of these don't seem like anything I do.

Someone told me 95% of Mormans live in Utah. I thought he was giving me legit facts.

I have some questions about Mormonism. I know some of the answers, but, like the blog I had a few weeks ago, I like opening up dialog for all members to be educated. Here we go:

1. Do all/some Mormons perform communion with water and potato wafers, due to traditions stemming from what was available in the late 1800s?

2. Do Mormons believe that Jesus traveled to North America to teach during His life on Earth?

3. What all does the Book of Mormon add to the teachings of the Holy Bible?

4. Why is there still the stereotype of polygamy in Mormonism when only a single offshoot of the denomination practices it?

5. Every Mormon I've ever met is super-nice. Is that a requirement, or can you be just semi-nice, too?
