I am in the last 20mins watching the last eps. I gotta say i am mad because nothing is being explaned. 6 years.... lost. Maby that is what they wanted some silly joke.

The reason they were on the island was explained in full detail. They all had empty lives, Jacob brought them there because they were candidates to become protectors of the island. That was it..
Yea, there was a little bit left open, but really, everything that needed answers really got answered, everything else really didnt matter since it honestly wasnt about the island, it was more of a character study instead, the island was just really secondary.
I wanted to know why they where there. They still left alot of stuff open. I am glad they where all happy in the end but i know alot of people who are mad.
In the bigging of the first season the wrighters sead "we will never make the show about religen and they are not dead"
