We're recently come into possession of a rooster.
His name is Pi, short for Piebald, which is his color pattern. My phone camera is awful, so you probably can't even tell. He's roughly 4-1/2 months old, and is a hybrid of some sort, as he won't have a comb. (funny thing on the top of his head, in simpleton speak.)oFTo

As some of you may know, I have an affinity for birds, mostly pigeons. But since I was merely a young little lamb, I have always been fascinated by the idea of chickens. So here we are, 10+ years later.

Is he not cute? ;u;

We are working on building a chicken coop, and next Spring, we will raise hens. Assuming Chicago has an actual winter this year, it'd be a bad idea to try raising pullets at this time of the year.
