Are Video Games good for us?
Everyone has a different opinion and I am going to discuss them.
Planet Earth collectively spends over one billion hours a day playing video games. Its a fun time killer, but are those hours of our lives just wasted away? Or are we getting something good out of this?
Many people refer to the gamers as the lowlifes who have no personality. But Scientists have proven that Gamers do much better on tests of creativity and personality than people who do not play games. Video games have been known to increase hand-to-eye coordination and thinking ability. Results have also shown that playing games can increase eye sight and even cure cataracts when played for a reasonable amount of time. ...but playing to long can damage eyes.
People with Schizophrenia (A disorder with the brain) can gain "mind power" by playing video games that challenge the brain.
But, do violent video games destroy our brain? It has many parents worried. It is very possible that it has a negative effect. But In my opinion, its a bunch of moldy trail bologna. but some people think that the violent games increase violence in youth. It has not been proven, but possible.
Other studies show that Scary and Violent games increase a childs ability to control feelings like fear, anger, and stress.
An interesting myth backs up the fact that games are good. Games supposedly relieve stress because its a whole world, where everything eventually goes right and impossible things are possible, then we look at real life and see its not fair and its stressful, games create a distortion field like thing.
Overall, in my opinion, games are great when not overused. Feel free to tell your opinion, without starting a war.
Notable flaw: how do we know what happened to the detective in the end? the body was found, but we could never know that he heard Sousuke's voice, not even if there were camera's or some other recording device.
I'd rather play them than anything else. I don't care much for living snywy, might as well get wonderful synthetic emotions with games/cartoons/music. I'll interact with those until the end of forever. @-@
Everything in moderation. Too much of anything is not a good thing. And if that story is true, videogames probably were not the main factor. You'd have to be seriously mentally unstable to saw off your own limbs.
yes indeed I had heard of such a tragedy. But it was a <span style="font-weight:bold;text-shadow:1px 0px 1px #888"><span style="text-decoration:underline">creepypasta</span></span> If I recall correctly.

But, if this where true, that was one tragic accident in one game....if it was an accident. but, do all kids saw there limbs off after playing pokemon now? lol its a bit wild if you ask me.[/quote]
After reading that, I don't want to start a new file in my Pokemon Blue. I'll just hack the game and skip the part where Oak wants me to follow him

I feel that video games have much more positives and negatives. Video games are my way of relieving stress because I can take my anger out on whatever. I want to punch a guy in the face, I can punch a guy in the face. I want to single handedly kill and entire army of demons, I can do that too. In my opinion, I think that that's exactly why video games have been increasing in popularity dramaticly. I would give anything to live in one of these other worlds. However, if one day we have the technology for actual virtual reality, I would be scared. As I would lose my grip on reality. I sometimes find it hard to distinguish between my imaginary life, and my real life.
