So, I assume everyone has seen the girl licking the boy's face on the ad for this website.
It's a link to Sandra and Woo, a Webcomic that is ongoing. It's about a girl, Sandra, her raccoon Woo, and some of her friends.
Seems like a child-friendly story, right? WRONG.
The beginning is subtle, as we're introduced to the characters. The plot has some direction, but then the controversy begins. Swearing, out of little kids' mouths, is constant, and the topics and jokes are too adult. Often I am not amused, or I simply can't understand. As I read more and more of this "story", my irritation and hate grew.
Drugs, alcohol, political turmoil and other unnecessary topics are decimated into lackluster jokes. The plot falls apart into arcs, which only misdirected the readers more. The human-animal duo loses the comic's attention fast. Some segments are only about animals or humans. No concrete personality is made; I'm constantly questioning the author's thinking. In one strip, Woo the coon climbs a Bald Eagle's nest and promptly begins to eat the eggs. The mother shows up, obviously angry, and the coon asks for SOME SALT. There are multiple more strips that provide tasteless humor to some countries and areas unaware of the strip's meaning, in this case endangered species. The area offended is America. But wait! Every area gets a turn. It's like the author wants to be hated by every possible reader.
Now here's the clincher. The comic, or rather, this slop, had the audacity to make a comic of the girl stripped naked by the coon. That's SOO appropriate. And this isn't implied nudity, her chest is exposed. I wasn't sure what had or was supposed to happen, but that strip was enough to make me seethe and write this blog.
So, I really wanted to like this Webcomic. Unfortunately, it has too many misses that insults more often than it gets people to laugh. The genre is comedy, but the only joke here is the fact it was even published. The age group seems to be pre-teen but its definitely not. I wasted my time, and I'm trying to prevent you, the reader, from doing the same.
Umm.. I read every strip on that site.. >.> I saw none of what you claim. It's actually a cute story so far and the most "adult" joke I've seen was "Okay class, everyone can give a multimedia presentation on their favorite part of biology. Except Larisa." "What's wrong with human reproduction?!"..
These ads are better than the others because lets say I wanted to advertise my site I could easily pay like $0.60 - $1+ and have it showed here. Also this makes it easier for you to monitor the ads unlike that one time...
So, why is this a featured blog, instead of a Help Desk post or a message/email to me?
Do you realize that it costs me about $250/month to keep these websites running? Ads are currently covering about $100/month of that, so I'm switching between several ad companies to see who gives more revenue.
I can block specific advertisers from showing - if there are enough complaints- or you can outbid them with your own ads. You also have the choice to not click specific ads. All ads that auto-approve are marked as "Child Friendly" and "Safe For Work". If you believe this ad is not, you can also complain to Project Wonderful. A blog is not appropriate.

I have no complaints about the ad. The ad itself is not offensive and it takes quite a bit of digging to find the offensive stuff. I'm not complaining because the ad helps keep the site up. I will say I support the ad for helping pay for the site. By the way, can't you have multiple ad companies advertising? I'd think that the site is popular enough to get a decent ad company. Maybe if the site gets popular enough, we can get advertisements from bigger companies, such as movie advertisements and ads for Coca-Cola and such.
One thing I have to add though is that maybe you didn't take into account that maybe the comic isn't meant for children. Just because the ad is on a family-friendly site, doesn't mean it is family-friendly.
I actually clicked on it because I was bored one day. Guess I'm a rebel. I didn't read as much as you did though. Your rating of the site is a pretty fair rating. You did your research. +1
