I'm sorry Hull but this'll be the last one for a while. Oh wait, not until I/O next week!
The Search Giant: I won't go into the history of Google because that's something you can do here!
But as you should know, Google began as a search engine, then created Gmail (these are NOT in chronological order), then Maps, Earth, Youtube, Motorola, Navigation, News, Currents, Plus, Images, Drive, and so on. Long story short. If people could look and use the first version of Google as a search engine, they'd be let down because of how far they've come in these past years. And theres' more on the way.
The New Era: Recently, Google has been doing tons of "Spring Cleaning" due to I/O (their annual developer conference) in 5 days. 6,000 apps removed from the Play store that were infecting phones, just ads, or links to your website.
One of the best, but not new, is Fiber.
The awesome, super cool, and FAST internet/tv provider!
*Keep the Fiber jokes to a minimum please.*
Yes, Google provides TV! Not like Google Tv, but like FiOS or DirectTV.
If you'd like to know all the features just go onto the website I linked above, but here are somethings at really make it stand out, to me at least:
-Record up to 8 programs a once with 2 TB of DVR storage
-Free Nexus 7 with installation
-1 TB of Drive storage included
-1000 mb/s using Wifi
-All HD, no extra price for HD channels
-Biggest/Best package: $120/month
That's WAY less than what gets paid for my TV.
The downside?
It's only available in Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO. Yes, I know it's sad because this really cool! And they're trying to roll it out as fast as possible.
The Future: It basically says that Fiber currently covers 0.007% of the worlds surface. And if this was to be pushed all around the world at this rate, it'd take an average of 107.25 YEARS to complete! Providing JUST the homes in America would cost $14 billion. The last few things at the bottom of the page are the most interesting, but I won't spoil anything.
Based off of this...it's going to take a VERY, VERY long time before Fiber is known and used worldwide.
The Verdict: Fiber is something I want. Fiber is something I need. I think it'll change world. Just as Google always does, and this time it's possible. I'm sorry for all the praise, there will be one more blog on Google before I move into a regular basis of the usual well-rounded tech world. I feel like is short. Oh yeah. Well, go GOOGLE more info if you want. Because sooner or later, that'll be the only thing you can use. (:<
Google makes tons if things that people don't know about. Don't believe me then go to Google and in the top bar click more then click even more. That's not even everything.
