Chapter 4

Jesse grabs a pan out of the cabinet and a wood spoon off of the counter. He walks into the hallway and inhales a deep breath. He closes his eyes and then opens them quickly. He starts banging the spoon against the pan.
"It's time to wake up!" Jesse yells over the noise of the spoon and pot.
"...And time for someone to make me some breakfast..." He mutters softly.
Myst opens his door slowly, with dark shadows under his eyes. He drags his feet, walking toward Jesse. He takes the spoon from Jesse and walks back toward the room, slamming the door shut.
"Oh, so that's how it's going to be." Aspareta says, popping her head outside of the door.
She walks out of her room and stretches, yawning.
"I'll make breakfast. You should go try to wake up Mr. Grumpy Pants."
Aspareta walks toward the kitchen and gathers the things she needs to make pancakes, grits, eggs, and bacon.
Jesse heads back to the room where Myst is sleeping, and stopping at his door. He looks in the bathroom spotting a bucket. Letting out a small laugh he goes and grabs the bucket.
Jesse pops his head out of the hall, "Aspareta, do we have any ice?"
"Yeah, it's in the freezer." She says without question.
Jesse takes the bucket with him into the kitchen, filling it up with ice. He swiftly walks back to the bathroom, filling it up with cold water. He hums softly, walking back to the room Myst is in.
He knocks on the opens the door stealthily and walks to stand beside Myst. He lifts the bucket about Myst's head and pours the ice-cold water on him.
He sits straight up and glares at Jesse.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?"
"Not waking up." Jesse chuckles and walks out of the room.
Myst sighs, aggravated, and stands up. Mumbling to himself he takes his wet clothing off and puts his spare set on. He stuffs his wet clothing into his bag and walks out of the room, the smell of bacon filling the air.
"Jesse?" Aspareta says, looking back at him for a moment.
"Yes?"
"Since you're so great at waking people up, go wake Heart up." She smirks.
Jesse picks up the bucket and heads for the freezer again, "My pleasure."
Myst rubs his eyes and looks at Heart who was still asleep. Aspareta was already making plates, divided all of the food into four equal servings.
Jesse walks back out with the bucket standing over Heart. He holds the bucket over her face, tipping it.
"Don't you dare." Heart's eyes shoot open.
Jesse puts the bucket down on the floor, "Oh, you’re awake, noob."
Heart stretches and sits up, "Yeah, sorry to ruin your fun."
Aspareta sets the plates on the already set dining table. She sat down and began to eat. The other three join her seconds after.
"Thank you, Aspareta." Heart smiles and begins to eat.
Jesse, stuffing his mouth with food, "Yeah.. Thanks Asparrrrrr--."
He chokes on some food, ending the sentence.
Myst looks at Aspareta and nods.

~After Eating and preparing to leave~

Aspareta just finished putting up everything back up; she returns the dishes to where they were before, the unused food in the refrigerator. Everyone else cleans up the house, leaving everything as it was before get got there. As they were tidying things up Lazer stood guard at the door.
"Ready?" Heart shouts loudly, exiting the bathroom.
"Ready!" Everyone replies, standing by the door.
"Then lets go!" Heart skips toward the group, a wide smile on her face.
Jesse opens the door, and they head out, regrouping at the mailbox. They all turn and look at Lazer.
"Where do we go?" Myst says, looking at the wolf with soft eyes.
Lazer walks in front of the group, and starts to walk toward a wood line off in the distance. The group follows him at a distance.
As they cross the roads, they are silent. They walk in sync, move their arms in sync, breath in sync, and probably even blink in sync.
They reach the tree line, then entrance to the forest, and stop. Individually, they pull out their weapons, getting into a battle-ready stance. One by one they fall into a single-file line. Lazer continue to move deep into a forest.
Approximately eight hundred yards into the forest loud music could be heard. Heart and Jesse exchange curious glances, but continue to move forward. Ten more yards in and a vibrant cabin is visible.
The group steps out of their formation and they take in a deep breath in relief. They put their weapons up, letting their guard drop.
Lazer stood anxiously at the door, pacing impatiently. Myst walks over toward the door, and slowly opens it, jumping back slightly, expecting an ambush. Nothing happens.
Hearts lets out a soft chuckle and enters the cabin, the music blaring "Soldiers" by Otherwise, the perfect song for the survivors, the fighters, and the protectors. Surprisingly, the living room was filled with unknown, living human faces. They were chatting amongst themselves. Not a single one of them turn to look at their company.
Lazer sniffs and starts to whimper. He rubs against the door. No one pays attention to him, their eyes go to the buffet that was sitting on the table. They quickly walk toward the delicious looking food, grabbing plates, and filling them up with food. Jesse and Myst stand at the table, eating off of the platters, ignoring what they put on their plates. Aspareta and Heart stand in the corner furthest from the table, quickly eating what they put on their plates.
A man enters the room. He is dressed in a long, sleek black coat, and black slack pants. He has brown, shaggy, curly hair, and glasses to cover his eyes. He is well built. Everyone turns and looks at him as soon as he enters the room.
"Good afternoon." He says in a deep, dark voice.
"Hey, November." One of the girls on the couches waves at him and smiles.
He doesn't acknowledge her. He continues to walk, finally stopping in the center of the room. Lazer begins to yelp louder. Aspareta looks at him, glaring. He begins to scratch the door. Aspareta nudges Heart and nods toward Lazer. They nod and begin to creep his way.
Jesse and Myst look at them and follow their movement. Laser's yelps turn into howls, and they walk faster.
"What is it?!" Aspareta says in a loud whisper.
Lazer beings to scratch the door. Jesse turns the knob. Nothing happens. He tries to unlock it and then turns the nob again.
They all look at each other and then realize..
They've been set up.
The music gets louder. Jesse yells some orders, but it is drowned out by the sound. Everyone in the living room turns toward them. November slowly pulls off his glasses, revealing empty eye sockets filled with wires. Heart lets out a scream and drops to her knees, curling into a ball, pushing herself as far as she could against the wall. Aspareta, Myst, and Jesse follow her actions, Jesse pulls Lazer under him, protecting him.
Heart looks behind her to see a tiger walk in the same door November did, the tigers eyes were closed. Heart couldn't take her eyes off of the tiger. She begins to count how long the creature kept it's eyes shut.
1...
2...
3...
4...
There is a loud beeping noise.
5...
All of the sudden the tiger opens it's eyes, it's sockets empty like November's.
Then everything goes a bright orange, so bright is almost seems white. There is a hot, burning sensation that runs over everyone, scorching them. They can feel it burning into their flesh, but they can't scream. Suddenly, it all goes black.
