The Redesigned Moto X
By Emanuel Cruz 9/7/14Hey what is up guys, its Emanuel here with a review on what could be the best android yet, the redesigned Moto X.
The original Moto X that the world loved finally gets a bigger screen. The 2014 Moto X measures a display size of 5.2 inches. Rather than the shameful 4.7 inches that the original use to have. The 2014 Moto X includes a Corning Gorilla Screen with a resolution of 1080p Full HD and a 423 ppi for a very sharp and clear display. Now this display may not be as great compared to the Samsung Galaxy flagships like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. But, Motorola has always been known to make great low priced smartphones.
Motorola says goodbye to the plastic material and instead goes for a gorgeous aluminum metal frame. With the new metal frame the 2014 Moto X weighs 144 grams compared to the original weighing around 139 grams. The new Moto X has increased its performance to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, a 2.5 GHz quad core CPU, and a Adrena 330 GPU at 550 MHz. All these specs can be found in the Samsung Galaxy S5 but the Moto X, as usual, cost a lot less than the S5. In the rear you can find a 13 mega pixel camera with the new ring flash for great photos, and a 2 mega pixel front facing camera. Both capable of recording up to 1080p full HD instead of the rear which is capable of recording Ultra HD.
The new Moto X has three IR emitters sensors that can detect hand gestures for unlocking the phone, silence a incoming call, or snooze your alarm. I guess you can relate this feature with the Fire Phone by Amazon. The new Moto X also includes a 2300 mAh battery for a good 24 hours of mixed use. With the new Turbo Charger, Motorola promises a 8 hour battery life for the first 15 minutes of charge. The Moto X will launch will Android L as soon as it's available.
What really makes this phone even more amazing is the prize. $499 for all of these high specs is really good compared to the prize of the S5. The new metal frame and bigger screen really makes the new Moto X stand out of the crowd. So what do you guys think? Is this the best android yet, or naw? Leave your comments down below. My name is Emanuel Cruz thanks for reading and remember, Always be Awesome!
Except the wood back covers. I think those are ridiculously ugly. But those are interchangeable, so it's okay.
Everything else is great: the camera, screen, OS, processor, RAM, GPU, etc. No complaints there. It's really nice.
I really hope Apple proves me wrong that they can still make great products and that they can continue innovating on Tuesday, because I'm on the verge of moving to Android.

I'm surprised that you don't like the wood back covers. I thought that was a cool idea.

No, but as I said, they're interchangeable. They also go by cheap. So it's okay. I'm glad that you can customize it as you please, actually.
You mentioned a few times that this is a phone, yet the only feature phone-related listed was "silence a[n] incoming call". How is the call reception? Does it support cellular over WiFi or voice over LTE? Does it support conference calling? If it supports video calls, how is the quality?
