Are you ready, oh and please challenge me in Smash 3DS. I've been the best Smash player in this community for years. Since Brawl.
After Mewtwo's confirmation: WAT?! I HAS 2 BUY 2 SMASH BRUHZ GAMES? #NintendoSux
In all seriousness, I don't see why people are complaing. It's not like Nintendo is making you buy two copies for the full experience. He heard their cries, so if you're a 'true' Smash Bros. fan, getting Mewtwo shouldn't be a problem since 'true' Smash Bros. fans have Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as well as having a Nintendo 3DS and a Wii U.
Seems like the director himself, Masahiro Sakurai, is rewarding those who purchased Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and has planned to purchase Smash Bros. for Wii U. But that's how I see it.
But relevantly speaking; the hype for this game is killing me. Time for me to pre-order!
And I also dislike how you said that "true" Smash Bros. gamers have both copies.
Like I said, there may actually be a legitimate reason as to why people do not have both copies. You do not need both versions to be a "true" Smash Bros. "gamer".
They have a reason to complain if it indeed is exclusive DLC to those with both copies.
Some people cannot spend on both copies nor have both consoles. Greedy Nintendo will do anything for that extra buck.
However, if such DLC will also be available to those that do not want or cannot get both copies for a fair price, then that'll be fine.
Same thing goes for the Smash Bros. OST CDs from Club Nintendo. I mean, c'mon Nintendo. I just threw $40 at your face for Smash on the 3DS and the least I would want is the 3DS OST as a reward.
The reason why I thought this complaint was nonsense was because probably by now, everybody haves a 3DS. Mewtwo isn't coming until Spring, 2014; giving the consumers plenty of time to purchase a Wii U. And hey, it's a good excuse to get a Wii U and the Holidays are coming too.
In my opinion, that's great marketing strategy. But I fully agree as to why this is a big issue. I do remember seeing a rumor about him being as paid DLC without the need of both versions. But it hasn't been officially confirmed. If it's not possible, then yes, that is a bit greedy on Nintendo.
