Smallworlds is one of those virtual world games where you create your own avatar and make friends of which you can play by making an account or connecting with Facebook. It requires you to be 13+ to play the game.

In Game Currency
Like most virtual world avatar games, Smallworlds has in game currency. The regular currency being Tokens(of which look like poker chips), and the rarer and nearly impossible to get without paying for it with real money currency, gold. I feel like the gold is a ripoff, personally. Due to the fact that things that do need to be paid for with gold, cost a ridiculous amount of gold.

Missions
There are missions you can do on Smallworlds so you can earn tokens and XP. You would want to do a lot of missions before doing the socializing thing, I will explain those reasons further on. Some missions on Smallworlds are very easy and others are really hard. Some missions require an entry fee of tokens, which can be annoying if the mission was bad and not really worth the entry fee.

Avatars
Like most games with avatars, your selections on facial features and hair and everything else is little to nothing unless you have a VIP membership. When you start off in the game you look basic and the tutorial makes you change clothes, hair, etc. You only get the tutorial on your main avatar, and all avatars of yours use the same balance of tokens and gold. Which is unfortunate because that requires doing a lot of missions so you can get tokens. Each new avatar you have is practically a new account. When you make a new avatar you have no friends or anything. You can choose whatever gender too. I decided to make a boy avatar on my Facebook Smallworlds, and his name was Clive, and he was somewhat "emo" looking and I gave him a purple and black striped shirt and he had glasses. Many people called me a nerd so I removed the glasses.

Other Players
This game is a very horrible game with hardly any moderators from what I've seen. Bullies everywhere, people trying to randomly date people. Here's an example of a lot of conversations I've had
Them: hi
Me: Hi.
Them: wana date
Me: I don't date people I don't know.
Them: *keeps asking four more times or until they find someone else to annoy*

The reason why you need to do a lot of missions before socializing is because you'll level up and look like you've been playing for a while. I can't express how mad I get when people make fun of someone because they just joined the place. I helped a girl once who'd just joined and a girl started being mean to her for no reason. I stood up for the girl, and reported the bully. The best thing about that situation was the guy the bully was flirting with started standing up for the girl too. Then the bully called him a loser or something and left. Another time there were people talking about Justin Bieber, I decided to share my opinion and say I don't like the guy then all of a sudden they were being mean to me. They were in an area called "Find Friends" not "Exclude People and Make Them Feel Bad" it was really hard on my anxiety and depression that one.

Overview
This game is good if you find nice people and pretty much let people talk to you first, never approach anyone unless you know they'll be friendly.
I suggest not playing this game if you have severe depression and anxiety like me, unless you can deal with things fairly well and know how to cope with random mean people.
Also not a good place for people that can't handle bullies, or sensitive people.

With my Clive character, a girl of whom thought Clive was a boy(I've let people think he is cause boredom, and it's funny to see how people act) and she asked if I was gay or if I'm a girl because of his purple on his shirt. I informed her that boys can in fact like purple, and she said it was weird and was overall rude, like a lot of people on Smallworlds.
