I walk inside the house.
I hear a loud cry of pain, coming from the basement.
Panicked, I run down to where the sound came from.
I see a figure, down on the ground, lying in a pool of blood.
Mom.
“Mom!†I scream, rushing to her side.
“Zen, an Implanter got me... I can't..†She trails off.
“Mom, please don’t leave me!!†I cry, panic rising every second.
All our memories together came rushing into my head.
That time I fell off the merry-go-round at the playground and she cleaned up my knee when I was six. That time my dad came home for Christmas and we all had fun together, because we never saw him. On my eighth birthday, when she bought me a cat, and I was so happy. When I was ten, she comforted me on my first airplane ride when I was terrified to death. My thirteenth birthday when she made the most delicious cake ever.. Everything she ever did for me, and every moment we spent together..
“Zen, I love you..†She whispers, and I can tell.. Her time has come.
The lump in my throat felt like a tumor. “Mom, please don’t leave me!! I love you so much, you can’t leave me, mom, I need you!!†I beg and plead, hoping that God would give her one last chance.
“I’m sorry, Zen. Please stay strong, and when you see your father again, tell him I love him. Goodbye, sweetie....†Her breaths are even slower. A single tear escapes her eye. And all of a sudden, she’s gone. Gone like a feather snatched out of thin air.
“No!! Mom!!! Answer me, there’s still so much time left for you!! †I scream, tears spilling from my eyes and blurring my vision. They run like a waterfall down my face.
“It's too late.†I jump with surprise and turn to the darkness behind me.
A figure stepped out of the shadows, aiming a gun at my head.
An implanter.
“Get out of my house, you sick bastard!!†I scream with all my lungs, my heart pumping faster and faster. My greatest fear of all.
“No way.†The man says with a strange tone of voice, his delirious eyes flickering with delight.
“I'm going to get you, too. Interesting one.†He laughed with an evil grin on his sullen face.
“No YOU WON’T, YOU FREAKING JACKA—â€
He brings down a heavy object on my head, cutting off my sentence. I gasp as the white-hot pain explodes in my head.
Everything went pitch black.
