Flowey was distracted and didn't notice until he was struck down by the fire.
"Eeeak!" screeched Flowey as he faded away into the darkness.
The other monster slowly walled towards Frisk who was still sitting in the middle, hiding. She got up when she noticed her SOUL stopped glowing red.
The monster then came out of the shadows and appeared.
She spoke:
"What a terrible creature. Torturing such a poor, innocent youth."
Frisk stands back thinking,
[*Oh, no another Monster!]
The monster continues.
"Ah do not be afraid, my child. I am TORIEL caretaker of the RUINS. I pass through this place every day to see if anyone has fallen down. You are the first human to come down here in a long time.
[*There were others...] Thinks Frisk.
"Come! I will guide you through the catacombs.
She turns to a door, "This way!"
Frisk didn't trust her at first but, she had nowhere else to go. So, she decided to follow.
She enters into another room with a pair of stairs and leaves as Toriel waits patiently at the top. Frisk then notices the shadow of the ruins loom above, filling her with determination. She walks up the stairs into another room with Toriel.
"Welcome to your new home, innocent one. Allow me to educate you in the operation of the RUINS.
Frisk looks to the right and sees six buttons. four on the outer side of a pathway and two on the pathway.
Toriel walks on all buttons except the buttons on the small pathway. She then, flips a switch on a wall opening the door.
She turned towards Frisk and spoke,
"The RUINS are full of puzzles. Ancient fusions between diversions and doorkeys. One must solve them to move from room to room. Please adjust yourself to the sight of them." Toriel enters the next room but, Frisk stays for a moment to read a sign on the wall. It reads,
"Only the fearless may proceed. Brave ones, foolish ones. Both walk not the middle road"
[*Oh, that's why she didn't press the middle...]
Frisk says to herself as she wanders happily into the next room with Toriel. This room is different. It is long with beautiful, small streams of water flowing like rivers. Toriel told Frisk what she needed to do,
"To make progress here, you will need to trigger several switches. Do not worry I have labelled the ones you need to flip."
she walked on a bridge going over the stream passing a peculiar sign telling to press "Z" to read signs, towards a switch with Frisk following. Frisk looked at the switch and saw a bunch of arrows pointing at the switch.
Fisk started at it and back Toriel, confusingly. She walked up to it and flipped it. Then over another bridge they went to see two switches this time. One surrounded with arrows and one that doesn't even work... Frisk flipped the one covered with arrows (of course) letting down a spike trap blocking the next room.
"Splendid!" Said Toriel with a smile.
"I am proud of you, little one. Let us move to the next room.
