With the blanket of darkness covering the sounds and movements about, a quiet but swift thief was finishing the last prodding the lock of a worn wooden chest. Using what seems to be a thick pin, which could be the size of ones index finger. As small tick like clicks pop from the lock the strange thief lets out one large breath of air before he pulls the pin up in the lock inviting a final crack which releases the once strong lock from its protective and useful state. He lets out a wicked smile while he puts out both hands to grab the lif of the chest.
Little did this thief know the chests unfortunate owner was too using the blanket of darkness to their advantage. Our owner was quietly watching as the thief came in and set his greedy mits on his earnings. Suddenly a long creak ripples through the air as the thief opens the lid with haste revealing a heavy cache of silver and good. With the silver being the perfect size for the thiefs used and stretched pant pockets. The butcher, who was disgusted with his chest locks performance steps forward with feelings of warm and uncontrolled rage yells out, "Police!!!! Theif!!!!" This voice travels to the unsuspecting thief causing even his toughened heart to jump. He then quickly stuffs his pockets noisily with the last bits of silver and then darts out of the butchers market.
As he turns right to run down the road he noticed to the corner of his left eye two figures stopped to confront the butcher, where they then look at his direction to only quickly run after him with deep and demanding voices calling for him to stop, which only pushed him to fun faster. After passing alleys and intersections the thief approaches a long bridge, which is home to the main passage between the busy town and the quiet county side. With his footsteps making loud pats across the ground the thief notices several more, coming from both sides of the bridge, he stops half way and looks to his left and right, and with as much as he wants to deny it the Police have surrounded him, blocking his only way to escape the town, and his only way to escape the country side. He looks one last time and estimates he has 10 seconds until the full police force catch up to him. But, wait, there's one in the town side, and he's ahead of the rest, he'll be here soon, very soon. With no other choices the thief looks behind him and sees the concrete railing of the bridge, and past it the fast following river. He says a quick and instant prayer in his head where he spins around, sets his hand on the railing, then jumps, pushing himself off with his nervous hand. With the wind beating past him he falls closer and closer to the water, he holds his breath seconds before he is hit by the fast pacing river. After sinking a few inches he turns himself up right to rise to the surface for a large gasp of air. After a few breaths a large pow could be heard echoing from the bridge. He wonders what that was until he feels a large push on the side of his torso, which then seemed to grow heavy...He looks down and even through the darkness he could notice the water turning red.....
