I'm dedicating this one to Draconid_Jo's mother, who, if you're not aware, is actively supporting him in being able to reach this site. Kudos to her for helping Drac out even when he's in the toughest of positions.
If you haven't already, read part 2. If you're new to the series, I suggest starting from the beginning. Hannah watched the cedars rustle in the light wind from her bed, enjoying the blissful afternoon view of a partly cloudy day. The scenery was mesmerizing, never releasing Hannah's gaze as she drifted asleep. She must have been living the life, huh.
A nurse entered the room with a tray a couple of hours later. Noticing that Hannah was fast asleep, she set the tray aside and left quietly. On the way out, she bumped into Maria, who promptly entered the room and closed the screen door behind her.
After taking a glance at Hannah, Maria pulled up a seat and went to work, doing what she does best.
Hannah, detecting the scent of food, started shifting about as she woke up. She noticed Maria in deep concentration towards the end of her bed. After a brief moment, Maria looked up and smiled. "Ah, I see you're up."
Hannah curiously inquired, "What's this all about?"
"Here, turn over, and I'll show ya."
After adjusting herself, Maria walked over to an unhealed bruise on Hannah's left shoulder.
Hovering her hands over the bruise, Maria started murmuring and bowed her head in concentration. Within moments, it healed.
Taking a glance at the rest of her body, Hannah noted that she had none left. "Wow...! So you can heal people?"
"It's no wonder that I work in a clinic," Maria quipped.
After a brief moment of thought, Hannah asked excitedly, "Does this mean I have a power like you?"
"Hmmm... it's entirely possible, but I'm not sure what it is."
"How did you find out about your own, then?"
"I found out while healing a kid who was pretty scratched up from a fall a couple of months after I arrived here."
"Huh..." Hannah spaced out as she speculated what power she possessed and how that would translate to taking down Tim once and for all.
Maria handed Hannah a bowl filled with rice porridge. "Since I remember being quite hungry when I first got here, I asked the cook to make a larger meal for you. Eat up, will ya?"
Hannah pounced at the food, devouring it bite by bite. On the one hand, it was very refreshing and delicious, but on the other, it satisfied Hannah's monstrous hunger.
"Well, I'll be heading off now. Once work finishes for the evening, we'll head over to my house to stay the night, m'kay?"
"Sounds like a plan."
After Maria closed the door behind her, Hannah finished the rest of the porridge in her gluttonous style. She still was a bit hungry, though, so she eyed the tray with the rest of the food on it. The aroma of the grilled fish, pickled vegetables, and chopped sausages drew her hands ever closer until she realized it was right outside of her reach.
Too lazy to get out of bed, Hannah strained harder to reach the tray, but to no avail. 'It's so close...' she thought, so close that she could even envision it in her hands.
In that instant, she felt the tray shoot into her hand. Hannah's eyes went wide in disbelief, especially since she was alone in the room. My, my, what a priceless expression that was! To see someone of her caliber of intelligence confronted with an unreal reality is beyond amusing.
She tugged the tray close enough to the point where she could comfortably move it to her lap. As she finished off her dinner, Hannah suddenly wondered if this was the gift given to her. Excited, she tried to move around a small plate without touching it, but to no avail. Even with multiple tries, Hannah could not even nudge the plate. Disappointed that she could not willingly replicate the phenomenon, she sulked back into her bed.
The sun was beginning to set, casting a beautiful red haze over the clouds and the swaying cedars. Exhausted from exerting herself to try to move a measly dish, Hannah yawned and slowly began dozing off as rain began to drizzle over the area.
This part, although it seems rather minor, took longer than usual since I was stressing over it so much. Maybe I'm just stressed in general, haha.
This is the face I envisioned when Hannah was stretching out for food:
Shoutouts to whoever can figure out who that is lol
Keep an eye out for the next part! Hopefully should come out soon.
wow this is a super cool idea-- i'm quite interested to see where you'll take it! i really like maria & hannah so farrr
one thing that bothered me is how it was kinda confusing, maybe because you didn't give enough exposition?
but like, why does hannah accept everything without question? why is it assumed that hannah may have powers if only o n e person so far has been mentioned to have them? h o w much time passed since hannah arrived in this world? etc.

Maybe I should've developed Hannah's personality more. Would make more sense for you first point.
Second one didn't even cross my mind. Perhaps you could chalk it up to Maria's motherly tone and Hannah's inquisitive nature.
Third one is intentionally left out. :p

Haven't read it yet (although I'm going to), but my best friend @GuiedGui has permission to mention me in this blog, and I'd like to personally thank him for dedicating it to my mom, whom I love with all of my heart.
