An assignment for ELA, thoughts?

His beautiful katana flows smoothly

Through tons of enemies screaming out loud

With grace his hair with time so unruly

He moved without precision through the crowd

His steps thunder over swords and bushi

Over seas, he traveled far to the east

For a year he had nothing but sushi

Multiple times he had been called a beast

Conquer he did with much pride and power

Large scale battles gave him money and men

Fight and fight all he will do is devour

Decide your fate, you disgrace until ten

Build your strength so you may destroy his race

Be careful for he may keep up the pace

if you're just going for an elizabethan-era sonnet, i think it checks out. rhyming scheme is ababcdcdefefgg, as it should.

one thing, though: usually the couplet (two lines at the end) have some kind of twist to them. i don't really see a clear twist here because it seems like the focus of the speaker changes to addressing the reader before the couplet.

anyway, that's probably overanlysis. very interesting poem nontheless
