Suggestion: Notifying

A good addition to the site would be to notify members of their new BB comments on their Threads.
This can also work for blogs, Saviis, etc.

ie: Updates: You recieved a new message on your thread, 'Suggestion, Notifying'.
It would be a lot more simpler than having to scan through threads for your thread.

I agree with craig, If the thread(s) got popular, you'd get like countless spam in your alerts.

How abou this-When someone posts a reply, a alert shows up. Another alert will not show up until you check the thread. Let's say that there were 3 posts since your last visit. You will only be alerted once. But after checking the 3 comment on the thread, if a member posts on it, you will be notified of the posts that you didn't see yet.

ie: You recieved a post to your thread, Suggestion Notifying

I've seen this idea suggested before and considering we have alerts and notices for every other reply type on the site, I don't see why this wouldn't either, other than the fact that BB threads get a lot more posts than other parts of the site.

It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.

JStunn- That would quite considerably work.

Don't argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

I'm pretty sure the alert function was in progression to be implemented further such as this but I suppose another feature was worked on instead.
