what is the point of saying /lockrequest in BBs? It never really does anything. Is it just a way for people to get an extra post for their counter? I've seen unlocked posts with sometimes 10 /lockrequests! Don't people understand it does nothing?
There has never been a command for that I believe (if there was, it hasn't been around for a while.) I think some users understand that it does nothing and use it as a shorter way of requesting a lock when a BBMin sees it. some newer users however probably are confused by it and think it to be a real command.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
If you think about it, typing "/lockrequest" is just as short as typing "Lock please."
Or we could post a image of a lock [image]http://i1011.photobucket.com/albums/af234/Konjie/lock-dancing.gif[/image] jk.
Don't argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
There's been threads like this before. I think /lockrequest is pointless because "Lock please" is shorter and it isn't a real command. Quite a few newer users are guilty of using it.
Technically, /lockrequest Is quicker but I dislike when people don't even post a reason an just say /lockrequest while aspecting the user above or below explained enough, hence why your posts usable decrease if you've done that since I just cross it out and lock the thread myself.
Isn't ranting about lockrequests also getting your post count up? Of course it is! This thread will change nothing, people see it as a quick way to get a post? Good for them. :L
Exactly "Lock please" is shorter, so if comes down to using "/Lockrequest" cause you say it's quicke/shorter, then technically you could say "Lock please."

You've never seen someone say something like;
"/EpicFace"
"/Stalkerface"
It's the same basic principal. The / (Because in chats before typing a command) is as if your doing it.
We all have seen somebody do that, well mostly everyone. But I know what you mean
But it doesn't matter in my opinion of what you use as long as you give a reason on why the such thread you're about to post "/Lockrequest" or "Lock please" should be locked
