I've been searching high and low for a reference to build my own mp3 player using JavaScript and HTML5.
Here's all I know so far for the JavaScript:
file
.play(); //plays file
file
.pause(); //pauses the file
What I'm really looking for is a way to determine the
length
of the video/audio file, so that I can make a freaking progress bar.
Any ideas?

I'm assuming their isn't a method called file.duration();? I can go look it up.

The distinguished Quesadilla spake:

You do realize that this is the "Website Design" section, right? o.o It doesn't have to be DSi related.

The computer. Duh. :/
If you're wondering what kind of files these methods and functions can manipulate, it's any emeddable audio or video file.

You think this.stop(); would work on it? I wo der if it would run correctly with audio as it would with a marquee

Or this.start()
Maybe you'd be able to make your own function, like this.resume();
