can I get banned for using a banned persons dsi?

my friend got banned for saying something and I broke my dsi so I was using his and when I went into the chatroom it said a bot didnt like banned user avoiding a ban am I going to be banned too?

I think most bans here go by IP number(and account name and stuff)...but idk

It is impossible for the site to read what you get on with. It can read where you get on, but not what your doing.

Whatever device you use, be it DSi or 3DS or computer, doesn't matter if the same internet connection is used. Made more compelling in the light of perma-bans, so be careful.

i think that your correct, but wut if it is a new acount , different human, same ip?

This is self explanitory. If you use the same IP as the person that got banned, you'll be banned too.
