I'm Christian, so I wouldn't know.

I loves me some Quesadillas.

Not like we've had enough of those or anything...

It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.

Compared to the last one, I'd say good. He doesn't look like the Sith Lord.

When it comes to the semantics though, I doubt much will change with the Catholic church.

He practices what he preaches. That is an important part of being a Christian that many people miss. Her are just some examples:

- He aims to help the poor. To support this mindset, he chose to live in a small apartment for his papacy, not a palace. He also denied bonus pay to Vatican employees this year.
- He lives a humble life, as Jesus lived. To cancel his paper subscription in Argentina, he personally called the street vendor and thanked him for the years of service. He has appeared before the "common" people unannounced, rather than sheltering himself. He washed the feet of prisoners for pre-Easter service, as Jesus did for his disciples nearly 2000 years ago.

I am not a Catholic, but I have been closely watching Pope Francis and am impressed with his he lives his life.

Just today, Francis announced in a press conference that he would not judge priests by their sexual orientation. The quote being bandied about in the headlines reads, "If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?" Significant also is that Pope Benedict before him opposed homosexuals retaining priesthood.

I don't see why everyone is making such a big deal about this. Catholic priests take a vow of celibacy, so sexual urges don't matter, as long as the individual has the strength to suppress them and live a holy life.

Here are Jesus' own words on the matter from Matthew 19:12 (NIV), which comes right after the discussion of divorce and adultery:

"For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."

Never once does the Bible (Old or New Testament) state that being a homosexual is wrong. It does, however, say that homosexual actions are sinful - as are many heterosexual actions, like adultery and fornication. Since a priest takes a vow of celibacy, those do not matter. Only the internal struggles of lust and coveting are what matter. Since priests are only human, they fall to these sins-of-the-mind, like any one else.
