They have been "back" for some time now since ownership of Hostess changed hands. Though I recall firsthand tasters reporting that the new Twinkies and other snack products tasted different, chemical-like even. I would wonder how Wonderbread aged. Well the company had its time and is in more of a maintenance stage at this point, regardless of how well the products resonated with different generations of consumers. Perhaps the closely guarded recipes and custom factory equipment took poorly to the move.
