"Bottomless pit" is a bit extreme. Yes, Wii U sales are still sluggish, but 3DS is flourishing. Both are important, both are relevant. By no means is Nintendo facing abject failure. This year, their biggest game will probably be Mario Kart 8. The new Super Smash Bros will do well too, however it appeals to slightly more dedicated gamers, as opposed to the widespread love for Mario Kart. It also is not often that a high profile game releases on both console and handheld. Doing so indicates wish to expose the largest possible audience to the beauty of Super Smash Bros, and also entice one-track handheld owners. It ain't Ring of Fates. Personally, I'm really excited to play SSB on a handheld system.

Ohhh this game. I love it so much. It was one of my favorite games for the 64 and I enjoyed it a lot. There's just a lot of satisfaction to be had from hitting your friends over the head with the Master Sword.

Until I can find a quote thats really deep on a spiritual level, I'll just put this here.

So the 3DS version will have at least one stage exclusive to it. The announced stage looks to be Super Mario 3D Land themed and is side-scrolling. I'm fine with a special stage or stages for each version. Even so, I would prefer for the n unique stages on 3DS, there be n + 1 unique stages on Wii U. Any greater a difference really puts a mark on value. Their aim needs to be to bolster Wii U sales while keeping 3DS at a high level. Somehow I feel Wii Us bundled with the game at a reduced price would accomplish two goals. As the information trickles out, there might also be a better idea of if and how online functionality affects these things.

The fact they are putting it on the 3DS are going to hurt Wii U sales. I like this, though, because I have a 3DS, but not a Wii U.

The 3DS version is said to be released this summer. Greninja (X and Y water starter final evolution) and Charazard are to be playable chacters.

Unsure of what to make of the split release dates and the Wii U game coming later at that, but there could be fiscal quarter reasons. With the playable Pokémon, I think they just wanted to put in a new one and well-known classic one. Two online modes seems fine: fun versus competitive. I particularly found the abuse system an interesting adoption--players who are found to cheat or play unfairly get temporarily banned from online play.

I think I heard of Lumiose City being a stage in the game, but if it is, I'll be happy.Saffaron City in the first Smash Bros game is nostalgic, in my opinion.

This game looks amazing. If this game was released with a XBox-Kinect-esque feature, it would be even more awesomerester. Imagine being able to shoot Marios' fireballs, or shoot a laser gun with your hands. Omigosh.

I agree, that'll be in the pending list untill Nintendo cooperates with Microsoft. :c
