Super Mario 64

Let's talk about this awesome game. The Super Mario franchise has a lot of popularity solely because of this game.

I honestly think they should make a 3DS remake; the largest criticism for the DS version was lack of analog, but 3DS has the Circle Pad.

Arguably, remaking Super Mario 64 for 3DS is redundant because Super Mario 64 DS is playable on 3DS, and a second remake is not too likely. In a way, Super Mario 3D World affirms that the 3D gameplay will continue to go in that direction. I do maintain that the landmark title is one of those games that hardly seems to age (as opposed to Mario Kart 64 for instance). So I can certainly envision the next handheld offering N64 and DS titles on an expanded Virtual Console.

Catch my drift.

Back on the 64 couldn't you impale Mario on a spikes? I remember something like that happening when I played it. Couldn't do it on the remake, plus the lake monster looks less threatening and doesn't eat you. I miss those things.

You could do it on the spike/flagpole thing on the roof of the castle using a gameshark moon jump code on N64, but on the DS Version using action replay moon jump code... They prevented it xD
