Summer's big E3 game exposition is coming up in just a day! The three day event lasts from the 10th through the 12th. What presentations and games are you most excited for? Feel free to post updates and thoughts.
Yesterday's opening day brought some major titles to the forefront, mainly Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Assassin's Creed: Unity, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Tom Clancy: The Division, Battlefield Hardline, and Far Cry 4. Also of particular note to me were Fable Legends, Mirror's Edge 2, War Thunder, No Man's Sky, Destiny, The Order 1886, and the Witcher 3. I wasn't too impressed with the Battlefront, Arkham Knight, and Metal Gear Solid V showings.
Today was obviously a big day for Nintendo. A Star Fox Wii U game, an open world Zelda Wii U game, and Mario Maker. My guess is Splatoon, a unique Nintendo-exclusive shooter, was the third surprise because Mario Maker was reported for some time.
Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is the mystery 3DS game fueling speculation over the past day. It is an original IP from the makers of Fire Emblem and Advance Wars. The steampunk-themed game involves mostly turn-based strategy with some third person action elements.
Plenty of games shown this year. Most will agree that Nintendo had a strong overall outing. My thoughts on a bunch of selected games:
Code Name: S.T.E.A.M, intended to attract newcomers to TBS, should bring satisfying and basic gameplay as well as some humour. Destiny's scifi visuals look great. The new Doom definitely tickles my curiosity. Fable Legends, unsure I'd appreciate this unless it comes to PC. Fantasy Life looks tantalising. Halo Collection is an attractive prospect considering I left the series after Halo 1 and 2. Hyrule Warriors' hack n' slash thing has a slim chance of really retaining the Zelda spirit. No Man's Sky is hopefully an eye opener. ORAS, the primal legendaries look fine (not overboard) and gameplay appears standard, but I wish E3 brought info on new features. Super Smash Bros' gameplay looks solid, let's hope framerate is too. Splatoon is funky yet has the potential to be quite addictive. And the Zelda game looks gorgeous; I very much want it to push the Wii U to its limits.
