I heard there's a slight chance of getting your iPod bricked but you may be able to restore it if that happens. I was just at summer camp for a week and I talked to someone else about it and they claimed you can get sued. I'm not really sure if he was right, though.
Where did you find that out, commander? My sources say that you have a small chance of getting it bricked. Anyway, I downloaded Redsn0w but it's so confusing that I have been unsuccessful in attempting to jailbreak my iPod.
@lolguy That doesn't matter, it's still a discussion and I'm just wondering if I should jailbreak. And Hallianne, how will it delete my apps? I haven't heard that before...
Actually a teathered ipod can be restored, jailbreaking is awesome but make sure your using the relevant program that will work for your system os before you start.
DC, I think you have bricked confused with something else. Bricked means deadPod. The only thing it would be good for is a mirror. My old one could not be restored. And it bricked not 24 hrs after I jailbroken it. I've tried everything, it was dead. Now, a jailbroken iPod can be restored, but it still voids the warranty.
I know my apprehensions might never be allayed. And so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written...
That's why I'll never do it again. And that's why I highly recommend it not be done. But it's your iPod, I'm not saying you can't do it. I'm just advising.

Well, I've decided I'm going to do it... once I figure it out. Thank you all of you who helped me weigh the consequences because I've thought about it. Discussion ended, lock!
