I know it's not really my point to discuss this, but I'm just chucking this out there.
As we all know, Chat Moderators will use their own discreation, so warning members is of course optional. I'm not here to complain, actually far from it. Proactive means to act to prevent trouble, which we have enough of on this website. When Chat Moderators are watching a conversation, they must be making sure the topic won't steer into a sour one, and the best way would be to conspicuously change the topic. Many times I have seen a moderator warn, ! Quit with the -sample- topic ! And while most members have the sense to cut it out, the others will turn it into an argument, and be banned.
Tell me what you think.
If the person gives you a hard time, just be polite in warning or banning them..You can't just talk to them like you are looking down on them, and instead of coldly stating 'banned' just say 'i'm sorry but you are forcing me to ban you' or 'please just follow the appropriate guidelines or i will be obligated to ban you'..i don't know how the admins actually do this (this isn't an attack, or me singling out someone) because i've never actually seen anyone get banned, but if you are the 'nice guy' the entire time, it makes you look better, and gives them nothing to complain about..
I agree with this...but there would be some smart asses that would ignore that subtle change, Usually, I don't 'tell' in mynwarnings though, I begin by 'ASKING' i.e. 'could u please choose another topic'? I find it works better then the orders.
Love is like the beat of my heart whenever you cross my mind. Love is like the smile on my face whenever I look into your eyes
yea-also, there is a couple words, like 'ass' that's allowed in moderation, depending on how u use it...like the way I used it here previously is a personality flaw [that I myself have. lol] so, it's not really bad [in my opinion]

I know Astra, I've been in a chatroom and said "ass," then another member was like "We can say ass? Ass, ass, ass, assity ass ass."
You get the picture.
I think the amount of off topic posting is due to the fact that most members don't understand the meaning of the word, "miscellaneous" and are too lazy to read the explaination under it!
Lets come to the facts, if you ban someone that was really annoying people no1 will throw insults or anything, now if you show yourself to the community banning someone that just complained about a subject change ending with..something sometimes..childish and a stupid (no offense, i didn't know any words to replace this) reason for a ban that will probably happen.
but after all...admins are just doing their jobs...ah! and that depends alot of the situatiuon thats why i think it is too complicated to dicuss..too..directly
o.e i know my point is not very important but members make a community, the greater the people with the same point should be taken in consideration, thats what i think.
I agreed with PieBoy
