To all you young "developers" I'd advise to start making PC varients. Long go the days of DSi development lingering around is just a year or less. Join the real world of Development.
My ideal life; Living to the fullest, having fun, and geeking on a linux box.
Eh, mobile developing can be quite fun. I'll be shifting to the 3DS when the browser releases in May. I think I will get into coding for PCs soon though.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
3DS development won't prosper, better consoles and handhelds are gonna get created someday.Pc development would be alot easier because for a PC site you could just add any good feature, but now for a dsi site,3ds site you can't go and add a image hosting feature nor good ajax games either.
Blah blah blah. I made a PC and DSiSite connected to the same database. Follow that trait and your site will succeed! I have a 3DS and Mobile version to start on soon...
I'm not really one for telling people to shift to PC design. Both ways definitely have merits.
At this stage in web design, it's just a hobby. HullBreach went into homebrew and building DSiPaint because of that very reason.
In ways, working with such limited game console browsers is obviosuly a greater challenge. In others, starting small so it's easier to learn can be better.
I have a feeling that 3DS web design won't go as far as DSi did; and serious PC design is more often a means of income.
So in the end, whether you go with mobile or PC, it's more about what you're interested in and what kind of audience you wish to cater to.
