Okay, so my idea is to make the chatrooms less ...Totally crazy. There would be a new rank, Approved, to assist with this.
Okay, so first, we need a CHATROOM OPEN that acts just like every other chat, and our other chatrooms would be private, which require Approval to post in. A lot of users would be promoted to the rank of "Border Guard" or "Approver" or something, maybe even more than placebo. This rank would only have the /approve command, and none of the placebo benefits.
APPROVAL
Approval would be very simple, you just have to stay in the chat for a while and not go totally nuts. Any user who joined before this system was added would automatically get approved.
OVERLAP WITH DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Being kicked from a chatroom would remove approvalfor a short time, and being banned would force you to re-earn it completely.
APPOINTING APPROVERS
Appointment would be simple: Be around for at least 3 weeks without getting banned, don't act like a power-hungry warlord, be friendly and fair, basically normal admin criteria, except appointed much faster. This would be a very ordinary position, and maybe it would only show up as admin on the Open Chat.
Okay, I think that pretty much covers it, and, uh, please tell me how to improve this idea, if it's too hard to make, if you like it / hate it and why, basically any way itcould be improved.
I'm confused, actually. The objections are "It's a promotion! That's bad", and "It's too complicated". I put a lot of detail into it, but the basic idea is "Approve users before lettingnthem into te main chats". Since the "Open" chat would be exactly the same as our normal ones, I'm not sure why it would be so horrible. I think you may have misunderstood me when I said "Private", I meant "Not having approval means you can't talk there", not "You can't see it". Seriously, I'm really confused about the "Oh my gosh! It's a promotion! That's so EVIL!" argument, unless having any "job" meant your name got colored.
ACTUALLY, WaffleKing is right, this is way too complicated and not likely to work.
BUT NO chatroom WILL be private. Only Mods can Ban. There's no 'official ticket to come' in normal chats. Only people who are promoted are MODS for JOBS(Ex. Blogmin, Chatmin, Overlord,etc.). Plus it isn't fair to the people of SDK because some test is supposed to grant you access? Like some secret code? That to me is saying,"Mods have no access unless they pass a test." That test is like literacy tests given to African-Americans in the 1960s(which I think is stupid because African-Americans are human too). So would you really want that Matt? Would you?

Anything can be done. But once you put a limit on something, the chances are lowered.
