Title's a bit wack, so I'll try my best to explain here.

For most of the site, doing irreversible actions, such as deleting blogs and paintings, are denoted with a simple button. All that's needed is to push the button and it's gone in a whiff of smoke.

Unfortunately, since these actions are irreversible, an accidental click can lead to immense amounts of sadness.

The sole exception of this is the profile page, where deleting comments requires the user to confirm their action before proceeding. Emulating this behavior across the entire site would be a solution to this problem. I presume it's as simple as
onsubmit="return confirm('Are you sure you want to do this? This action cannot be undone.');"

I tried testing something, and noticed that when you cancel your account (which is irreversible unless an admin brings it back), it's just immediately done.

I think @GuiedGui had asked about it before, but there should be a popup verification like, "Are you sure you want to do this?" before going through with deleting the account.
