The icons for all of the lil things in General Sections (like Blogs, Groups, Polls, etc) are kind of unattractive and really pixel-y when you get close to them.
I think they should be redesigned into neat, simple, and compact icons that don't take long to load.
I decided to redesign the logos myself; they are in the process of being sketched. I'll digitize them when they are finished.
@Rlad116 to be fair I was the only one who pushed the limits of the tool, and I remedied it now.
And good to know, @banjo2 . However, this Helpdesk has become more than just a conglomerate of random fixes, and I feel like some of these issues could be better tackled if we just created new Helpdesks lol
If we are to continue on this idea, perhaps a method of creating a site-wide CSS for yourself like something like sudomemo has would be an interesting touch.
That or just custom-made resource packs. Where everything is retextured.
Probably would weigh too heavily on Hull's servers, though.
If by "limits" you mean resolution limits, maybe. However, scan them at the highest possible resolution and upload them off-site to prevent artifiacts, as I'm sure you're well aware.
Do keep in mind the images are so darn small due to hardware limitations on the DSi. The icons themselves are 48x48, so I can imagine why it would be so pixellated.
And about load times: large images will only exasperbate the problem even more. This is more of an issue of the network along with the website servers (or even the hardware you are using). One of those could easily be the bottleneck here.
